While I love to stick it in the craw of the Libtard anti's as much as the next guy, it really would be difficult for me to wear a shirt with a huge black rifle printed on it out in public. To the range, sure. But that's like wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirt to a Rolling Stones concert. I don't want to be that guy. ![]() I LOVE my polos with the simple embroidered NRA logos and would wear a MO ARFCOM polo to work as often as possible as I do with my NRA shirts. But I seriously can't see myself walking through the mall wearing a shirt with a large rifle on it. Something about OPSEC comes to my mind. |
Let's make sure we get the polo's in FDE
|
That looks like a post marathon beer and brat
|
Thats what I was going to say. A cold brewski after a long run, hell I bet after a run like that it only took 1 beer . I remember doing landscaping in the summer, after sweating all day long and finally going home taking a shower and drinking a beer Id be drunk after only 2
|
Those are already for sale if you dont want Missouri on it. Maybe we could get a deal on a quanity of those and a deal on somebody putting MO on it.?!? |
I LIKE IT!! On a polo have in the upper breast area the boltface logo with "ARFCOM MO" around it or under it. I'd take one each in FDE, OD, Desert Tan and any other .mil color scheme, 'cause I'm geeky like that.
|
Yep, it was the free brat and beer. You had a choice of a soda, water or a beer. I just can't believe so many runners chose the water... damn.... BTW, I would love to run one of those with an AR strapped to my back (ultralight model of course) but I know I would be arrested before I could even walk up to the line. |
They're OUR tax dollars too! Trust me, I'm only wastin' my part of the tax income. When it comes to yours, I'm slavin' to the bone. I'd take a Polo, I'm not interested in anything that screams "I love guns!". I do, mind you, but that's like feeling the need to yell out loud that you like women. We kind of figured (hoped) you did, but we don't really need to be told. Plus, Jake and I work for a school district, I hate having to think about what I'm going to wear with the possibility of offending someone or being called a loon. |
|
I would be interested in a polo, perferable with one breast pocket. and the bolt face and with what ever text under or around the bolt face, iding the wearer with the MO. Afcom gang. Big black rifles, be it the real thing or just a picture makes to many liberals on the streets or at the mall wet on themselves. Then they want to make troubles for the scarey man with a picture of a big old nasty black rifle on his back. And Eric, it could also be comsec too. AKA advertising you have a or a desire to have a black rifle is like the old WWII "loose lips, sink ships". That is all.. |
|
I'll try and cover some questions. The t-shirt guy isnt registered on ARFCOM and i simply inquired how much trouble it would be to switch out a pic and change the wording a little but keep the same basic design, and that's how we got where we are now.... Here is the info from the other forum: Shirts are in Desert Sand, Grey, and White in sizes S-XL and 2x-3x in Grey only(add $2). We havent discussed polo's yet, but will prob just start w/t-shirts. The cost will be $15 shipped, but can give a slight break if ordering more than one shirt since I'll be saving on shipping cost. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Regarding the bolt logo. I do love the logo, but it is officially licensed to ARFCOM and I dont want to step on any toes... I also have the MODDC shirt and still wear mine. |
|
I'm all in favor of a shirt that literally says "I Love Guns" and if someone gets me one with white lettering on a black shirt I will absolutely wear it everywhere and promise to have AFSOC take my picture earning taxpayer dollars in it. Why? Because we are obviously better public servants than the guys on here who lack the gusto to be proud gun owners AND public servants! Yeah, that or I just like tugging on people's beards! For the Techie School workers out there anyone going to More.net in April? If so we should get together for a few beers and some food. |
You mean opsec tho, comsec is specific to communications, unless you are using your shirt for semaphore having a picture on a shirt isn't comsec. On to other things, I think all this guns on your shirt thing is blown out of proportion. Tinfoil hattery if you will. I don't go out of my way to not wear shirts advertising my hobbies. I have a few gun related shirts, you know how many people I've had say anything to me at all, ZERO, apart from getting some weird looks at a gunshow in Dallas while wearing an ar15.com shirt, most people don't notice/care/understand. Now I only have one shirt that people actually say anything about, and its because they see it and they think they can get something free out of me. I have this bright green TurtleWax shirt, the same ones the guys who work at TurtleWax wear, every time I wear it people ask me if I work for TurtleWax, because I'm guessing they think I could some how hook them up with free services. This one shirt out of the scores I know is the only I get comments about, and I'd say 75% of my shirts are advertising some company or product. Nobody asks about Sawyer Excavation, Birch Telecom, EMC2, Sun Microsystems, FireForEffect, AR15.com, CampyBob's BulletFest, KC IrishFest, CrawlForCancer, I can go on and on, and tell you nobody has ever asked about any of them other than the f'ing TurtleWax shirt. |
So brown is gay because you're vested in OD green? I guess multicam is for yuppie posers too? Go shit on the threads in GD Polytech |
|
I think a standard AR15.com Missouri t-shirt would be fine. How about... AR15.com Home of the black rifle [SOPMOD M4 pic]- must have ACOG! Missouri That would be cool! I wouldnt mind a black shirt with white or yellow print to much either. But the desert sand and gray would be just as good. Im down for 2, and I know a few friends who lurk here who might be down. |
|
BaNo, I suppose we will have to agree to disagree. Frankly if you have a message on your shirt be it text or a picture that conveys a message or thought. Then it is a form of communication. Gee, I suppose some can not read the writing on the wall or shirt in this case and realize it is a means of communication. Comsec it is. Opsec is a possibility too, seeing how you are in motion while you are wearing it. But what is the clear operation? But you are communicating your mind set with the perceived message that is conveyed to the receiver. |
I didn't say brown was gay, I said FDE was gay. I talk smack on QQ multicam the same as people talk about UCP, I obviously offended your personal camouflage choice, I apologize.
Thats the color scheme of my Team Ar15.com shirt yellow on black, It works well. It also may camoflage you if you are hiding in a lot full of school buses. |
Aye aye. My logic in opsec vs. comsec tho is, gunownership/hobby/whatever is your operation. Breaking opsec is letting any information leak about it, ie letting someone see you with a guncase, wearing a arfcom shirt. Breaking comsec would be, you posting on arfcom, and someone shoulder surfing when you otherwise don't let anyone know anything about your operation. |

I have one of the Hometown Team Shirts, it's pretty cool, I try to remember to wear it to shoots and gun shows. It's helped introduce me to fellow arfcommer's more than once. I also got one of the boonie hats with the bolt logo, but haven't worn it much. I'm not sure if boonie cap is my style yet or not... Anyways, I'm always in for a t-shirt and/or hat! I'm a dork like that. Not to highjack, but I have a question about something Eric said about concert shirts:
Um...I'm that guy. Why is this such an issue for people? I have a couple of friends that get pretty uptight about me wearing a band's shirt to a show. I mean, wouldn't wearing a MO-Team shirt to an Arfcom shoot also fall into 'That Guy' territory? Or, am I missing some pop-culture reference here? |
Yea Mr. 10mm I hope you don't wearing racing shirts to the track, cuz you'll be the same "that guy" who wears concert shirts to concerts. ![]() And If i goto a concert and buy a shirt, I put it on because I don't want to carry the f'ing thing around not because I want to wear the shirt. I hate carrying stuff. |
Its more about all your posts being negative towards the poster or the topic, things that are useless to the discussion, like the thread about 40 round mags, or this thread. |
"Liberace, rainbow flags, QQ multicam, and pink crocs." Thats a funny list, nothing negative there. |
|
I understand the Boltface logo has been done before, and you'd have to get permission or pay to use it. I guess If I want one of those I can order it from the ARFCOM store. I'm sure it's a given that you want to put AR15.com / ARFCOM. And definitely have MO on it. As for pics from the side view, an SBR would be sweet. OR a view where your looking down the barrel, maybe with the gun at slight angle. Black is my favorite color for t-shirts. But since were dealing with the EBR, that probably wouldn't work. Light grey is my second choice. scottMO thanks for taking the time to do something like this. |

Watman, I shaved most of my beard off. If you have a hand full of hair you'd better do a double check where it's anchored. Though Jake may be a bit more flamboyent about his gun ownership, he knows if either one of us wore a T-Shirt (which is kind of taboo anyway) or any other clothing with pictures of firearms to work we would be brought into question in short order. We work with mostly liberal teaching women. Guns are "Teh Evil!". I can tell you it most likley wouldn't be good. I love guns, bullets and all related things but I just don't want to wear a shirt that says so. Now a shirt that is interesting enough to start a topic on firearms ownership and our 2nd amendment rights? You betcha! Who knows, one day if I change jobs and don't work in such an environment I will wear all of the cool "gun" shirts and be akin to Watman (who seemed like a heck of a nice guy by the way), but until then I'll have to pass. |
Ah contraire mon frair, most of my staff knows I hunt, so there for I have guns! This is do to fact that I take off a week for deer and turkey season. I have 3 teachers at my middle school with animals theyve killed on their desktops, one has a dog box in his truck bed since Ive worked there with quial and pheasant stickers on the window and I have a Principal at an elementary that has stickers of ducks flying over the name of his duck hunting club on the back glass of his truck he drives every day to school and for his bday this year all his staff dressed in camo! So not everyone is as uptight as you or you might think ol'buddy! Now common sense says Im not wearing a blackrifle shirt to work but Im also not wearing a slipknot or metallica shirt..........duh! But I got no prob wearing a EVIL BLACK RIFLE shirt on my own time and if somebudy looks at me funny and dont like it...................... FUCK'EM!!!!!!!! Now how am I more "flamboyent" with my gun ownership? I dont have anything gun or hunting related on my truck or on my close. Im not the one who feels the need to pack heat every time I step out of the house in the big bad ghetto of BLUE SPRINGS! |
I think everyone here knows the difference between some camo (every ghetto wannabe kid wears camo) and duck hunting decals that every FUDD hunter that hates black rifles (ask these guys about the big name TV hunter that villainized the AR as a terrorists rifle) has on his truck and a shirt with a black military style rifle on it. I'm not knocking anyone that wants it! I'm just saying that it doesn't work for my life style and it wouldn't fly for very long at our place of employment. You can go right ahead and wear one at work if you want, I have no problems with it. Just wait until one of the parents of those little angels see's an employee with a big bad rifle on his shrit. The "fit will hit the shan". We're talking about school districts that expell kids for having multi tools on them because they're weapons. Can they be? Sure, but I think it's a little excessive to expell a kid for it. It happened at my Hight School two weeks ago. It's all in context my friend. It's not wrong, it's not evil but those that don't want it are in control of our place of employment and I'd rather not rock the boat. As far as carrying, you're in the wrong company to goad me about that. You are in the minority here. Most everyone on this board (of legal age) carries because they understand one universal truth: Trouble doesn't give a shit where you live. We've had 5 armed robberies in the Blue Springs area in the last two years that I know of. I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Besides, I rarely catch you anywhere that you don't have a gun in your truck. You'd be more likley to be assaulted OUTSIDE of your truck than in it. |
Aww shucks, that's just Ben's way. He ain't gonna change. And if he did we'd worry about him. |
Flame Wars!!! scottMO, if you get your t-shirts made by Kansas City Tent and Awning, I would be interested in a larger size.
|
|
I like to wear pink crocs with my MoDCC/Arfcom t-shirts. Hey, thats exactly what I am wearing right now!! (seriously) But then again I am the guy who shows up at all the shoots wearing the brightest hawaiin shirts I can find along with shorts and sandals. I like to think of myself as an Bahamas Beach Assault Squad poser.. |
You "Bahamas Beach Assault Squad" guys scare the shit out of me. Seriously, hardcore.
|
A board member heres wife got carjacked out side of south Pricechopper about 2 years ago. Both UMB branches have been robbed. And the other day I seen no less than 6 brothas being arrested at Subway on Woods Chapel Rd, It would appear they were having a brawl, I didn't follow up. I live in Blue Springs and I carry, not because I live in Blue Springs, but because in these days, you can get harmed anywhere for any reason at any time of day. |
I don't know if he was serious or not, but yeah, you can't be too careful now-a-days. Crime will happen to anyone, anywhere. I live in Belton, which is literally one of the safest towns in the KC area, per FBI stats. But, recently we have had 2 girls go missing, and a 3rd still un-ID'ed body turn up near one of the roads I drive on everyday! It's a bit disturbing to know that I was been driving past a corpse twice a day for approximately 3 months! Not too mention there's robberies, a few rapes, sexual predators, etc etc. (Speaking of carry...I still need to go get my permit renewed....heh.) |
Yeah for the most part I was just trying to get a rise out of my ole'bud toothles, which I did, for his remark "flamboyent about his gun ownership". As he stated, many times, I dont have my CCW but always have a gun in my truck. And I know this isnt going to help 100% but its better than nothing and should foil a carjacking. Now the "bros" at subway thats to close to home cause I live just blocks from there ![]() My how we have digressed from the topic. ScottMO to each his own sounds like we still have enough interst in getting some shirts if you are serious. I think Polytech has a line on getting some printing done. And we can always pickup a white Polo and write in marker for Eric |
