I understand the Texas State Guard is a State Defense Force (Civil Affairs Role) and is 100% voluntary. My question is as a possible Texas Peace Officer, would I be able to volunteer for the Guard? Also The Guard is split much like the Air and Army National Guard; there is a "Army" side and a "Air Force" side if I understand correctly? Thanks for putting up with my questions. I promise you I am not the start of a mass migration of Floridian immigrants. ![]() Also..... Beans don't belong in chili. |

Also..... Beans don't belong in chili. Yes, you would be able to volunteer with us. We drill once a month, most times on the weekends. Drills range from 1-3 days depending on your unit and the type of drill it is. You do not have to be prior military, you don't have to be prior anything as a matter of fact. We do have the Army side, and the Air side, and the Marine side. This is our current thread. The only time there might be a conflict between the State Guard and your employer is when we get deployed/mobilized/sent forth to do good. It can come at short notice. To make this shorter, pm me with more questions, or ask in that other thread. |
