I don't know of any surplus places near Delaware. There's an antique mall close by I've nabbed some militaria at:

There's another one downtown Delaware, but I can't remember the name offhand.

Buns Restaurant is good eats:

Amato's Woodfired Pizza is killer too.

I do recall there's a big Army/Navy store in Zanesville, but I haven't been there in a long time. That's on 70 east of Columbus.

Here's a good list of Surplus stores in Ohio...you could find out which ones are en route and visit them on the way:

Drop me an IM if you're here and bored, I have a range just east of Delaware, you're welcome to stop by, shoot a few!

Take 23 north out of delaware to the St. Rt. 229 intersection, make a left and Norton Sporting Goods is right there.  Make a right, and the Delaware State Firing Range is about a mile down the road.

Buns is awesome and a must stop for you, they've been open since 1860something.  Matt's Famous Kabobs is good also.

Blackwing is a really nice facility, and they just opened somethinjg they're calling the "bargain den" or some such thing.  I haven't been there in a week or so and it was opened yet so I don't know what is there.

There are 3 or 4 nice antique shops in downtown delaware, but I don't know of any surplus stores around.  I know a guy that specializes in WWII stuff, but he mainly does gun shows and doesn't have a storefront.

If you need a church, I attend The River community church which is just north of ndelaware on st. Rt. 42, we're a friendly bunch and its a contemporary come as you are church.  And a bunch of us are gun "enthusiasts".  :) if you need anything whilst your in town let me know.
