Looking into the Greenville-Spartansburg area.

Can someone give me a synopsis of handgun laws/ carry issues? Open carry?

Of course I would want a SC carry permit. I had a NY permit and now I have a VA permit, also have a PA non-resident permit.

I participated in NRA sanctioned Gallery course matches for years in NY and I have a 03FFL.

Off the top of my head:

Vehicle(no CWP needed):
- Can have a loaded handgun in glove compartment or center console.

CWP (good for 5 years I believe)
-Concealed carry, no open carry as in VA
-Can't carry into places that serve alcohol (pretty much any restaurant or bar)
-NICS check done for CWP check, after than you can purchase firearms with just your CWP, no NICS check needed

You'll like the area. Most people find it rather festive, with plenty of anything you could want.

Gun laws are wonderful. You can have full-auto and suppressors if you've got the money.

Taxes aren't too bad, either.

Might want to check into Polk, Rutherford, Cleavland Co.'s in North Carolina. These border the Upstate of SC.

Thanks for the help but the job was not a good fit.

This was a commercial contractor looking for a Chief Estimator and I am Residential.
