For those who don't know, 1201 is temporarily incapacitated.

I'm sure he'd like some attention, something to do.

So let's help out and keep the big guy's mind off his agonies.   If you have any 1201 stories, stories about criminals and the St. Lawrence region, etc.  Anything that would entertain, annoy, bother, disturb or amuse him, post it up here.

I wonder if he still has that hippy-mobile.   It was definitely the best armed VW Bus I've ever seen!

Ah yes, the war wagon.  I remember the tool trailer.  One time we/you guys were bending a bunch of flats into receivers.
The good old days.
Say, if he needs something to do maybe a bending party is in order.

(what's up? nothing serious i hope.)

The flat bending party was fun, and the WV made some great pancakes!

Who was it that almost bought his M1A for $400 from his son? Poor kid really wanted a new BMX bike.

Was it really his idea to put the tannerite in the (frozen) turkeys?

Still have my NY serial # FAL from the Enterprise group buy he put together awhile back.

Should we start sending random parts & kits to keep him busy?

OMG the fargin' Tannerite Turkey!

I forgot about that, you've got me laughing my a** off in my office!

Damn that was sooooo funny,  frozen turkey blown all over the place!!    You still have a link to the video somewhere?

What did 1201 sell that preban lower for?  Something like $325 wasn't it?   I figured I didn't need it so I didn't buy it.

On your way to being the $6 million man, 1201; a couple of more joints oughta do it . (NO, not those kind of joints ).

Thinking of you - be well.

Wade has the video, I think it's titled: "Turkey + Tannerite = Grown men giggling like school girls!"

The preban lower was $400, it's currently setup as a M16A1 clone with the 22 conversion kit in it. One of the boy's favorites.

Got some great deals from him over the years, including a minty Smith Corona 03A3.

Think he can still cruise in the airboat with a bionic knee?

Well I'll fill you fine folks in as to what's going on:
On the 4th I had my left keen joint replaced for the second time, with a six day stay in the Veterans Hospital in Syracuse.
Looks pretty horrendous, often feels that way too!
Everything is healing faster than expected....
Something as simple as taking a shower leaves me as exhausted as one of Fry's classes. (look that way too)
I thought I was going to do all these things while down (reading, training videos, reloading, etc.) but the most I've been able to do was drive to P.T.
Didn't need any transfusions, but did loose a lot of blood.
Several multi-syllable chemicals have become a necessary pleasant part of life.
The eldest son bought me a new PC, and I thought I would post pictures, but this one lacks the proper port and I haven't found the cable yet.
I'm up until tired, rest, then go back to doing what I can......anybody ever tell you Physical Therapist's are sadistic sons of bitches?
We HAVE had some fun & interesting events, need to do some more.
12/13/2012 7:53:43 AM EDT

Good to hear you made it!

Let us know what cable you need, bet there's one laying around.

Have you got a chance to listen to the CD I loaned you yet?

That would be a good one to do your PT to....LOL
Have a box with your name on it  to send to you....

I say we all send him some AK build parts....no 100% receivers, we want him to bend his own.

oooooh I can here him now....."DAMN SHITMETAL GUNS!"

hope your knee is getting better my friend.

I remember when FP helped me put my first lower together.

I brought over all the parts and as he was showing me where everything went he warned me about the little detent springs and how they fly across the room and somehow manage to vaporize in their travels.

Sure enough, about 10 minutes later, one of those little bastards managed to bend the time space continuum and FP had to dig one out of his spares box.

Ironically, they did a spinal block (as well as knocking me out) it was a good while afterwards before I could tell the junk was even there.....I'm not too sure I want to not "feel anything below the waist."
There'll be months of re-habilitation to follow, but I'm seriously considering going back to work before Christmas. Of course it'll be light-duty for months, but it'll be out of the house.

Did the femoral plate fracture?  It looks a little...off.

I remember the tannerite turkey specifically because i MISSED IT!  I was back up at the shack admiring all the awesome iron and heard a loud boom off in the distance.  Of course i cried (in my best Charlton Heston voice), "You maniacs! You blew it up! God damn you all to hell!!"   (for not waiting for me)

The femoral plate is covered on the inside with adhesive, bone, and cartilage fragments; it's highly contoured to match both the femoral condyle and the tibial plate.

I know.  Look to your left :)

I handle ortho as a heavy component of my day job.

Sat through a couple of them...Definitely...Interesting.

Reason I asked, the upturned portion almost looks like it has a piece knocked out, like a chipped tooth.

Hope you have a quick recovery.  I may be one of the new guys round these parts but hey next time you have to spend any time at the syracuse VAMC let me know.  I work nights here and it would give me a chance to shake your hand and maybe help find you some better food and drink.

I'll pull it out of the alcohol to look it over;
I had (4) subluxations over the course of two months, but I don't think there was any damage to the parts.
The plastic portion has dings/dents/divots that I assume were made during removal.

Actually I made sure they came home with me; seems there was a recall on replacement knees from the same time period the first was installed (2004)
The first one was never right from day one, and three weeks in the Hospital and I was ready to cut my own throat.
