What's a good archery shop that will spend time and help me make good decisions and still have a reasonable price? I'm in Oldham county, so the closer the better. Also I'm like 6'7" with an 83" wingspan so I guess I need like a 33" draw? |

King's Archery Outfitters
4754 Bardstown Road Louisville, KY 40218 (502) 499-6543 www.kingsarcheryoutfitters.com I'm 6' 4" and have a 34" draw. Custom arrows are very expensive, so I use standard length arrows and a Cobra trigger release. The length of the release offests my overdraw and I can remian accurate with standard shafts. i haven't been to King's personally, but i have friend who do go there and they all say they are courteous, friendly, and very willing to help you get the right equipment for your needs. |
| I know you said you were looking for something close, but there is a shop in Indiana that I would recommend to anyone. Gun World in Corydon. They take guns on trade and are very fair if you are trading for a bow. When I bought mine I told them I knew which way the arrow went in and that was about it. One of the shop guys and I went to the basement range with about a dozen bows and we didn't come back up untill I had settled on a bow. Absolutely no sales pressure at all. The prices are extremely competitive as well. It is probably a 35 min. drive from the Sherman Minton Bridge. |

Quoted: King's Archery Outfitters ... A couple people recommended this place so I went in there today. Scott was great, really spent some time with me, but unfortunately didn't have a bow in my size (32" draw) for under $700. I really can't see spending that much on a first bow. Still looking. |

Allright well I took the plunge with Scott King and man I gotta say I really appreciate the time and attention he gave me. If anyone else is in the same situation I would highly recommend going to King's. Great shop, great family running it. Now I gotta get me a freezer and permission to hunt some land before next season! |
