Couple years back the Thrashers ownership was sick of seeing every other NHL team jersey at the home games so they did a promotion to bring in any jersey and they'll give you an authentic one for free. I want to say this was 2005-2006 season. Anyway, I got one but didn't know what name to put on it since the team (like a lot of pro teams) seems to trade off their talent. Went with the AK theme. About once a game I get a comment from someone who is enlightened in gun culture. Russian names on hockey jerseys go hand in hand too. Don't make it to as many games as I used too, this being a direct result of marriage and subsequent child, but if you see me give and arfcom shout out.

While I'm screwing up pic postings, can anyone steer me in the right direction for a tutorial/directions on how to post a pic directly in your comment? Long time reader, rarely a poster.

Your almost there....  use the button one over to the left from the one your using to post the link.  The one w/ the Mountiain on it.  Post the image code there.  Took me awhile to get the hang of it as well.

Love the shirt!

But they'll never get rid of all the opponents jerseys unless the Thrash start kicking butt.

Atlanta fans are too wishy-washy IMHO and Atlanta is too much of a transplant city.  Folks come here to live, but still identify with their home teams.  It doesn't help that the away teams are also generally winning.

It'll happen at some point and then everyone will be a fan and I'll have to hate that instead of annoying yangees hockey fans.

It's all good, at least we have hockey.

I'm a huge Gladiators fan.  I have a Thrashers jersey, but I'd really like an authentic Gladiators jersey.  Or, just a Flexfit gladiators hat with just the logo on it, like my Thrashers hat.  Every time I go to the game, the merchandise vendors have non-Flexfit hats like I want, but nothing else.

Nice jersey by the way.

Freakin' awesome!  I am a hockey fan.  I played for a while.  That is an awesome sweater!  I may have to do that to one of mine.  I'll give full credit to you for stealing the idea.

Footrat, did you go to games when Rick Emmett was playing?

When I said, "Huge fan," I meant that I really love to watch them play.  I don't keep up with players (they change so often anyways), stats, or any of that.  I live too far away now to see the Gladiators very often, so it's been more than a year.

Huge Hockey fan here. I'm from Detroit so the RedWings are my home team but I'm a big fan of the Thrashers. I even played in a local league and one of the teams I played on were the Thrashers. I'd love to keep playing but my knee wont have it. I've played alot of sports growing up and Hockey was/is by far my favorite.

Ice Forum?  What division, if so?  I actually played there on a Thrasher team, among others.

on a side note, if you have kids there is NOTHING more fun than ice hockey, and there are least 4 rinks in Georgia to play at (kids or adult).

I have played for 20 years and some of the best memories i have are of being on the ice with my brother as a youngster

Scottie Bowman for Governor!

I grew up on Nine Mile, moved to Buffalo, and now I'm moving to Atlanta.  I can't wait to catch some Red Wing action on Southern ice!  Know any good Michigan-friendly places for wings, beer, and sports?

There was a great sports bar in Lawrenceville, alot of the Thrashers would go there after games and booze it up. The owner was from Philly and a huge hockey fan. He had jerseys all over and I want to say he even sponsered a team at the Iceforum in duluth. I can remember the name of it though. Thats gonna drive me nutz, oh well, its a short trip.

Kane, 9 Goals (tied with Bfluglien) and he's a -7?

Cooke is a +4 with the same number of penalty minutes (29) as Kane.

Pens will put it on them again Thursday.

Atlanta should have kept the Knights. At least they won a championship. As long as the Spirit owns the Thrashers they won't win anything.

None that I would frequent. NY and Michigan? Dude, you may be a lost cause.

On on a lighter note, I was in the stadium for OSU ass whipping of Meatchicken, last week. Good times.

That is a killer Jersey.

I moved here from Charleston where they had an ECHL team.
In 2001 both my minor and NHL teams won their respective cups...and Ray finally got his cup.

I moved here in 2005 and was very excited to go to the all star game.....enter the strike
Finally got redemption in 2008.

This is my coffee table with the 2001 championship memorabilia, including ticket stubs, along with tickets and practice puck from the 2008 all star game.

7-1 ASS WHIPPING of New Jersey, tonight. The Thrashers are now in 1st place in the SE Division. I know that there is still a lot of hockey to be played, but it is nice to see this ship headed in the right direction.

I saw the Thrashers last week in Tampa.
I am pretty sure I was the only ATL fan on that side of the arena, as half the row in front of me would turn around every time I supported our team.
It was fun, until the end.  Then I had to endure the heckling from the group I went with.
