I have a SAR2 AK74 that I purchased from a buddy about a year ago. I have recently discovered that someone threaded the barrel with the standard AK thread pitch, 14x1 LH. Well, there was not enough barrel material to get this right, so the flash hider just will not go on there tight enough.

What I would like to do is re-thread the barrel using the standard AR thread pitch 1/2 x 28.

I am wondering if anyone would happen to have a thread kit that would either let me borrow, or do this for me if I come to you. I would be willing to barter something for the time, a mag, some ammo maybe? I've used the thread kits before, so I am familiar with how they work.

I live in the Auburn/Dacula area. Can anyone help out?

Thanks.

Don't thread the end. Get a 22mm front sight base from KVAR, then order the break from Here

Make sure you get the pins and plunger

I considered going that route, but I am a little light on gun related funds right now.

save up for it. Trust me. Using a die won't make a dependable thread for any suppressor use, so unless you're just using a flash hider, buy the good stuff.

No plans to use a supressor, flash hider only.
