ATTENTION. ATTENTION. I am now a resident of Vermont. The big truck dropped of the household goods just last week. |
|
ok, just don't call yourself a vermonter...haha ppl up here are anal about that, you have to have 5 generations to say that. Oh, and they'll say you are a 'flatlander' even tho KY has bigger hills than VT... you notice I say 'they' , I'm not from here, just living here. Plan on doing lots of driving, and figure point to point in time, not distance. which side of the mtns are you on?? |
Nah, just you and your grndfather have to be born here. Hey, ripersnifle, he already knows about dressing warm. He got somebody mad at him while still in the Army, so they shipped him to Ft Drum (they get more snow than we do). I wonder who he killed? Anyways, Cohort, welcome to the Green Mountains. What part of the state are you in? |
Actually, to be fair, I really enjoyed my time at Drum. I even specifically asked to go to the 10th Mountain when I was in Korea. During the time that I was there, the 10th Mountain was a very capable unit and the community was very supportive of military families. As a matter of fact, my positive experience of being stationed at Fort Drum contributed to my decision to move the family back to the Northeast. I live in the Upper Valley, not too far from White River Junction. I love the mountains here and I love the valleys. I hike every weekend and shoot very often with friends that I knew before moving here. Expect for the huge jump in the cost of living in this part of the country and the long drive to get off my mountain every morning for work, I am very much enjoying the new surroundings. |
Definitely! I'd like to get the gang up there together for a day of blasting. I'm planning on coming up for opening day of rifle season, too. |
