Can anyone share their knowledge on transferring titles in Oklahoma? I'm not having much luck with the internet and Saturday I might be buying a motorcycle from a guy in Norman. Does the title need to be notarized to be completely legitimate or will my possession of it when I go to the tag agency going to be good enough? If it needs to be notarized is there anywhere in Norman that will be open on a Saturday afternoon where I can get it notarized? |

yes it has to be notorized.
you can normally get it done at the tag agency, the seller has to be there so they can witness the signature; and if you want to submit the title for change after signatures you have to have insurance on the vehicle. ETA: like z said, if you know or they know a notory, then thats a different deal altogether |

Quoted: Quoted: Don't most tag agencies close at noon on Saturdays? I'm not going until about 1 o'clock or so. Just my luck. ![]() beats me, I try to do business first thing in the morning whenever possible I may give the guy a call today and see if he'd be alright with doing it earlier in the morning. |

Good luck.
I haven't found a tag agency in my area that is open on a Saturday. Even the one that advertised saturday hours was closed on Saturday.
ETA: Fuson tag agency at 1236 N. Interstate drive in Norman says they're open 'til one on Saturdays. I'd still call to verify. |

Quoted: Some tag agencys stay open late one day a week...the one in Kingfisher stays open late on Thursday. Just pick a tag agency and call for the hours.... I found three in Norman, two close at noon and one closes at 1. There's a UPS store that stays open until 2:30, but I'll have to call them today and see if there will be a notary working tomorrow. If so then that will be perfect. If they don't then I'll call the guy and see if he would be willing to meet earlier. |

Quoted: Don't forget you need a mileage statement, attesting to the mileage on the odometer and signed by the seller, available from a tag agency. I saw that but I also thought it said they weren't needed for vehicles older than 9 years old. I also got a text message from the seller last night at about 11:30 saying he had just sold it. I passed out on my couch after work and never called him and someone else beat me to it. Back to the search. ![]() Thanks for the replies and information. Now I think I'll be able to jump on the next one I find instead of waiting to find out what I should know. ![]() |

Quoted: I send people to the local bail bonds places downtown when they need a notary at o-dark-thirty. A notary is not hard to find 24 hours per day if one knows where to look. Good idea, I never thought of that, most bondsmen are either Notaries or have one on staff, as I recall bail bonds have to be notarized, I certainly saw them do that a lot when I was a Deputy. |
