Ad for free snowblower turns out to be fake
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) –– A Craigslist ad for a free snowblower in St. Cloud sounded too good to be true –– and it was. The ad said anyone could come by and pick up the snowblower, for free, from the driveway of a home. It turns out the ad was fake, but the snowblower was taken, anyway. Police were called Wednesday after the resident said he left his broken snowblower on his driveway while he arranged to get it fixed. However, someone put the snowblower on Craigslist, claiming to be the homeowner and offering the snowblower as free for the taking. KNSI-AM reports investigators hope whoever took the snowblower will hear about the mistake and return it. Detectives are looking into who posted the fake ad |
