Just a heads up for everyone in the Carolinas.

A fellow I know is sponsoring two classes from ar15.com Site Sponsor, Tactical Response, this March 10-11 and 12-13.

The classes will be held in Rutherfordton, NC.

Fighting Pistol is on March 10-11, 2011.  FP is an excellent foundational course that many people take over and over. It is not secret squirrel, vanity BS.  It is for every citizen, no matter their profession. The lectures are worth the price of admission alone, but the actual fighting (and shooting) portion of the class is phenomenal. Students usually shoot between 750-1000 rounds over the two days.

Fighting Rifle is on March 12-13, 2011.  Learn to FIGHT! with your rifle.

I believe camping MAY be available on site.

Camping?????  No hotels in that town?  Well ... I'm in Charlotte, so an easy drive anyway.

I mention camping for those who may be interested in doing so and for those where the additional cost of lodging may preclude their attendance.

Cool. My friend's family owns the property on the other side of the river there. Didn't know any classes were being held in the area.

Just looked at the description and it says you'd need 1500 rounds of ammo, preferrably not steel cased.

I've never been to a training class, is that about average for a two day class or on the high or low side?

1500 for 2 days is definitely on the high side.

This is an excellent opportunity.  Space is still available.

How'd everything go? My friend across the river said he got calls and texts all weekend asking if "we" were shooting full auto down by the river! Ha!  Sounds like it was a good time.

Personally I was unable to attend, but I have heard it went extremely well.

And yes, I imagine 17 rifles expending 1500-1700 rounds each over the course of two days probably sounds like full auto to many ears.

Are they planning on doing this again in the near future?  I am very interested in doing this.

I have heard talk of possibly 'The Fight' (a force on force class....sounds excellent) and Immediate Action Medical.  If the interest and commitment is there, anything is possible/  Classes like FP and FR are best taken with some regularity, so I imagine having them here locally again would be great.
