I first want to thank all of those who could attend.

Without you, there would have been no class.  A teacher is nothing without students.

Everybody who showed tried very hard and succeeded at the two main goals of the class.  Firstly being safe, and secondly having fun.  Nobody left with extra holes and fun was (hopefully) had by all.

The attendees were Jasonfin, Ryo, Aloxite, Badassweakling, Berzerker, JoshAR, OptionX3, horsecock Enumclaw87, Warhammer and dropship.

Unfortunatly, some had to arrive late or leave early due to conditions, but i'm glad they were able to make it even for a short time.  The class was made better by your attendance.

I was able to spend some quality time with some good people, and was hopefully able to share alittle knowledge.

And i'd like to single out each of you really quick for some extra humiliation attention.

Berzerker:  Dude, you positivly kick ass. I'm really glad to have gotten to know you under better circumstances.  For those who don't know him, you should.  Not only did he bust ass in training and help out along with Dropship, he helped my SO hunt me down when she recieved some very bad news just prior to class.  He helped her and I a lot.  You have my gratitude. Gracias mi amigo.

Ryo, Badassweakling, OptionX3:  When I told you guys that I was leaving LCR after the training class was finished and why, you could have simply said "that sucks" and gone on about things.  Not only did you guys put a lot of effort into the class and perform superbly, but you came over and offered your condolences to Jen for what she was going through.  I simply cannot tell you how much that meant to her that you took the time and offered your kind words.  She and I both thank you for that.  I was very happy to make your aquaintence in ALL aspects. I'll be happy to train with you folks any day.

Enumclaw: your offerings of blood to the training gods made sure everything else went smoothly.  Thank you for taking one for the team.....  I also missed your post about the hamburgers and whatnot on friday because we were getting ready, and loaded up for LCR.   Otherwise I wouldn't have made different plans for lunch during class.  You and your father are classy dudes with the bringing of grub and drink.  You also performed superbly in the class. I was very impressed.

Jasonfin: form issues aside, you tried hard, you put effort into everything you did and kept your rounds on the paper. You did good. Keep plugging away at it.

JoshAR: great work on the frames. Much appreciated.  We couldn't have done the class without you.

Aloxite: most impressive shooting i've seen with a pistol in double action in a long time.  And without Aloxite, there would have been no target stands.  Fan-fucking-tastic guy to boot.

Warhammer: The hippies are only half as scared now. Maybe you should stick with the tazer from now on.....   Other then shooting the wrong hippy, it was a great time training with you.  You performed very well and your form is top notch. Most impressive.  I'm sorry you had to leave early this time.  It's a blast shooting with you.

Dropship: Learn how to shoot, dipshit. You can only blame the guns so much before somebody just walks up and kicks you square in the nuts.....

While not part of the class, I'd like to extend a huge thanks to Gibby.  Unfortunatly, my SO's great grandother (to whom my SO was very close to) died and she was pretty tore up about it just prior to class.  Gibbys care and concern led to me bing found and informed super fast by Berzerker and Gibbys quick offers of assistance really helped AutomaticJoy realize that we were in fact surrounded by friends and that made her feel a boatload better.  Gibby is one of those "Salt of the earth" type of guys.  Gibby, I owe ya....

Matt45: for being the cool dude that you are and offering extra one on one training with one of our members as well as bringing your great sense of humor.  Glad to hang out with you again my brother!

PCR-00 for helping point out some extra things during the safety briefing and for being a fine fellow.

And of course to my dear SO AutomaticJoy who not only loves, supports and encourages me, but, she chose to not haul me off the line and go home when she leaned of her great grandmothers death this morning.  So in essence, you all have her to thank for the class LITTERALLY not being canceled at that last second.

I had a great time and I hope you all had a great time.

If you could all please speak up individually as to who does or dosn't care to have you faces on the form here in pictures so they can be edited or not to remove faces by those who took the pics.

You all did good and i'm proud of you guys and your progress.  You all impressed me!

Thank you sir.  The class was great, and I know I learned a few things.  Though I did wanted to talk to you about draw fire of the pistol, but didn't get a chance.  I had learned a different technique but anycase I'll save that topic for later

As I had said, I'm sadden Jen lost someone dear to her.  I know the feeling from losing my mom last year, and having people come up to talk about it helps.  It doesn't take away the pain, but it helps.

And I offer my condolences. I know losing someone you are close to is hard and few words can make you feel better.

Thanks Grumpy for an awesome class and to Matt and Berzerker for working with me on breaking some bad habits. I appreciate it.

I learned a lot and know what I need to work on. Well worth my Saturday.

ETA: I dont care if my face is blurred or not. Maybe you could email trainees an unblurred group picture? I'd like one.

AutomaticJoy, sorry to here about your loss.
It was a pleasure to meet you.
I really appreciate that you kept GrumpyM4 up there to do the class.

I am really glad that I was able to take the class.
I feel like I now have the knowledge that I need to begin to benefit from practice.
I figure that firing a weapon before I have learned the basics is just practicing doing it wrong.

GrumpyM4,  I can't thank you enough for holding the class.
I look forward to doing again in the future.
If there is ever something I can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask.

As for the pictures, I think I'd prefer to keep my mug blurred out for now.
No one needs to see my ugly face (especially my co-workers.)

Watching from the outside, it should be noted that Grumpy didn't just show up and wing it... he put in lots of time and he was "all-in" and focused on giving the attendees his attention and intensity.

With this being my first LCR, I didn't want to jump in with both feet.

I would really like to participate in the next class.

+1000!!!!!!!!!!

I would definitely like to take Grumpy's class.

I wonder if he would take the time to teach a class at one of the gravel pits that he frequents out on the peninsula?

I still have the eighteen pieces of cardboard/ eighteen B-27's/two packs of 3" orange target stickers that I had secured for the LCR class.

I would even be willing to pay for the benefit of his time, knowledge, and experience.

Thank you all for your kind words (and actions- Gibby and Berzerker77, the two of you allowed me to have privacy and not disrupt everyones day with my grief. For that i am extremely grateful) it was something i have been trying to prepare myself for for a few years now(her birthday is June 13, and she would have been 95) even so, it was sudden and unexpected for me.
I am sorry that i did interupt the class as i know all of the attendees were eager to get started, and i thank you all for allowing GrumpyM4 time to talk to me. You are all fabulous people, and i am glad to have had the chance to get to know you.

PS. Dino, Ben is a lovely pup! Thank you for bringing him along, i look forward to seeing how much bigger he gets by the next LCR.

First and Foremost.  Jen, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother.  My deepest condolences.

Grump, IMHO you did an outstanding job with the training, I think I may have even learned some things just by watching the bits that I did.  If I wasn't so damned lazy and busy socializing with the rest of the pit, perhaps I'd join in.  Maybe next time....

It looked like you guys were totally focused and getting a lot out of Grumpy's training. Going prone in the slush and mud showed the determination of these gentlemen. Very well organized good stuff

AutomaticJoy, I'm sorry for your loss

GrumpyM4, thanks for taking the time to organize and put together a fun and informative class.  If we keep talking about how great it was, you may find yourself having to herd a bigger group, haha.  If that's what you want, and if you do a class again you may want to solicit speakerphone fund donations, hehe.

You didn't interrupt the class.  We all total can totally understand.  I think we all were wondering where Grumpy was, but none of us was being impatient about it.  That was great of Gibby and Berzerker77 to give you support.

I don't think there was anything you can do to prepare for her passing.  As I had told you my mom had died last year.  I was with her for a full week knowing she would die.. it felt sudden and unexpected.  I still feel that way.  One of the really sad parts is that she passed 1 month before her birthday & 1 month + 1 day before my baby was born (the first grandchild).  Be sure to talk to your friends and family.  It doesn't help stop the pain, but it does help make life more bearable.

Thanks to all for the kind words for AutomaticJoy, and to all those for their kind words and encouragment for the class.

I forgot to add in the original post to add that all of us in the class are very much indebted to Enumclaw87 and his father for their suppor with the tent, the table, and the burgers for lunch.  They provided an extra level of support for the class that I couldn't have ever expected or asked for.

So, THANK YOU Enumclaw87 and father!

AJ, Im very sorry to hear about you and your family's loss.  The internet sucks for this...  Its no place to convey emotion...  We are around if you need anything...

Grumpy, Perhaps I can take that class from you some time.  I could always use a lil 1on1 action

Grumpy my friend, thank you so much for your knowledge and patience with all of us; most of all your professional manner! It reminded me of being on the firing line(Navy) back in the old days! Looking forward to doing it again some time. Really wish I could've stayed til the end. Oh and my face may be posted.
