[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Treehouse help

My brothers birthday is around the corner and he really wants a tree house. My dad isn't into building that kind of stuff so hes offered to pay me to build one. And buy the tools needed

We have a good spot with 2 trees that are about 6 feet apart. I am thinking some kind of triangular floor with the 3rd support point being a 6x6 cemented into the ground. Anybody have any experience or plans they care to share?

I wouldn't put it in two trees. When the wind gets blowing and they go it different directions, something's coming apart.

Put a Pressure treated 2x6 band around one tree with lag bolts. Then bolt some support posts from below the tree to your outter band. Build your floor and just continue bracing up from the bands.

There are plenty of tree house building books in the library and book stores.
