Anyone going?

I have been thinking about getting into USPSA and 3 gun and thought I might travel out there (just to see what it is like) since I live in the Athens area.It is being held in Gainsville at Cherokee Gun Club. Anyone who has been out there before, how is it for spectators?

Thanks for the input.

P.s. this is my first post in the hometown forum, but I have been reading a while. Seems like a good group here.

I'll be shooting Saturday morning.  Just bring eye and ear pro, and you can walk around and check everything out.

It is a lot of fun and addictive. I shot a lot before I started instructing. Take a camera and talk to folks about it.

I'll be working Friday AM and all Saturday as well as shooting Friday afternoon. Head over and take a look as others have said, bring eyes and ears and take a look. The squads will be small to keep the flow moving fast, but there are some great stages to watch.

I wish I could make it. I have been shooting it for a few months now. It is fun as hell!

The GA State Championships have been great shoots in the past, I'm sure this one will be as one.

I can even introduce ya to the 2008 Single Stack GA State Champ!

I really hope I can get into USPSA next year. For the people who have been doing this, what is the best way to get into it? I have shot IDPA before but have heard USPSA is more intense.

I think the best way to get into it is to hook up with some guys you know and just shoot a match.  Talk to someone who knows, or get a rulebook, to make sure that your weapon/mags/rig/ammo are "legal" for the class you'll be shooting and give it a whirl.

Where are USPSA matches held? I am out in the temple area and not sure if anywhere close shoots that type. The west Ga range shoots idpa but that is once a month.

I've been thinking about shooting this match, but I don't have a USPSA number.

I'll be there Friday afternoon shooting.

Come check it out sometime.  I'd also encourage anyone even remotely considering shooting USPSA to just get out and do it.  Come to any of the local club matches, it is an absolute blast and will make you a better shooter.

Congrats to MadcapMagician for taking 1st A in the Production Division!   Way to go!  It was nice to shoot in the same squad as you and see you shoot (as well as get advice on some stage approachs).

Also, congrats to JShurley for taking 2nd A in Production!  I didn't get to see you shoot (or think we've ever met), but congrats.

Anyone else go check it out?  What did you think?

You didn't do too shabby yourself there mister!
I just want to know when Madcap is going to stop sandbagging though and put the Master hat on...

Congrats, Sean!

Does anyone know who won Single Stack?

*Disregard.....I looked up the match results.  Pretty good turn out for Single Stack!

LOL...so Sean and Justin 1st and 2nd...yeah...this is my shocked face.

Sean is a freaking rabbit who can shoot and Justin is like watching a 10/10/10 Quake2 bot tear through a bunch of deathmatch n00bs.

High-end product, both of those.
