I got my Primary Election Information packet in the mail today. I noticed D. Feinnstein is up for re-election.
Who has the best chance of beating her? It might be a pipe dream, but i want to do my part in getting her kicked out. BTW, go vote in the Primaries on June 5, 2012 |

DiFi ain't leaving while she's breathing. Nobody can do what she does. She has a legacy of douchebaggery to pass on, but as there are no suitable mortals she simply can't leave. At least not until Gavin (douchebag in training) Newsom is properly prepared. He'll probably have to do a term or two as governor first though so expect to see DiFi walking the halls with a team of medics and a crash cart in tow. eta Elizabeth Emken maybe? I mean if she can raise a zillion dollars to get her name out there before the primary. |

DiFi is running essentially unopposed (there's some nonentity placeholder called Emken the Reeps are running against her,
mostly so that if DiFi drops dead some good luck could occur, and also to force DiFi to at least spend $$ and not be unopposed.) DiFi is seen as a 'centrist' by most Californians, unfortunately. The lefties hate her because she has been moderately sane on certain defense foreign policy and spending issues, etc. - especially compared to her fellow Senator, Barbara Boxer. However, the Reep party in CA is so tainted by failure & biblethumpers that the middle just walks away from it, feeling somewhat secure that DiFi is 'moderate'. We had a chance to get rid of Barbara Boxer awhile back, but Carly Fiorina opened her yap to talk some anti-abortion crap (prob at the prodding of the CA Reep party leadership so as to get some more funding) and she dropped 4-5 points in the polls instantly. It was a competitive race before that, and she gave in to the thumpers and now we have 6 more years of Babs too. CA probably won't elect people to any statewide Reep seats (US Senator, Gov, AG, SecState, etc.) until 5-10 years after the Evangelical/Religious Right types etc. are publicly purged from the CA Reep party structure & funding control. People are rewarded for NOT winning, and will continue to be.. Bill Wiese San Jose CA |
