Well, I guess Phil and I can spend some quality time together ![]() If anyone is in the market for a Linux geek/sysadmin/software developer who is fluent in C, Python, PHP and a bit rusty in Perl drop me an email at editor I should have the resume updated by the end of tomorrow. |
Sorry to hear this... I know a technical recruiter for Volt. He places in the Redmond area but would be able to get your resume to other offices that may place wherever you live. Shoot me an IM if your interested and I'll get you his email address. |
| Sorry to hear it, Lib. I've been spankin the monkey since the middle of August. Just gotta get on your skates and start ringing doorbells. I had an interview yesterday with another state agency. Maybe there is a place for feebs in this world. And, I say, if a feeb can get work, a geek should too. |

Good luck, I have an "impressive" resume and have been jobless/homeless since February. HR fucks need to do their job correctly and hire qualified people... Not people they knew back in high school... Half those fucks don't even know what they are hiring for or what the job entails... Sorry, just a little pissed.... Not to mention Queen Christeen Gregwhore and her hiring freeze... Biggest Bitch in the World IMO... |
I hear you. I see the job postings and 80% of the time it looks like a monkey banged out a bunch of keywords. Usually stuff like that isn't written by the folks who know what the job entails, which is a shame. |
You should try the "E-recruiting" website for the state. Their IT people must work with crayons and playdough. I spent 5 hours applying for two positions. And the second one was essentially a cut&paste. Very typical .gov setup. They will hire even with this so-called freeze going on. |
Well, I do need to learn how to reload .223 and .45 so I guess I can make it to the range when its not so busy (KRRC seems to have events every weekend now, nice in one way but not so nice for just dropping by and trying out new loads). |
Well, our jobs are safe. For now. We'll see what happens when the projections for fiscal year 2009-2010 come out. Ironically with the economic downturn we expect to get busier in the short term. |

Sorry about your situations. Just finished a two day retreat with a bunch of bankers. Some pretty boring folks there. Anyway, they announced no lay-offs or RIF's are planned, and we will go on the attack. Only problem is that there will not be a bonus this year, which was usually 20-30% of our annual income. OUCH! That's gonna hurt a bit, especially since my numbers are up, not down. These are certainly interesting times. |
