Since some of you text me asking what happened I figured I would type up an AAR. Saturday in Kingsport, TN was a HUGE Success!!!!!!!! Mitch Rossell and I ate dinner with the Zac Brown Band before the show. Those guys were great host and made us feel welcome as you could ever be. We were never promised to much as what to expect out of this deal, we were content at every stage of the evening. After dinner we watched the show with some 20,000 people in attendance. A side note, the band was sponsoring a program called (letters for lyrics). If you would go to the merch booth and write a letter to a soldier they would give you a free promo cd. Of course Mitch and I both wrote letters and I told whomever gets my letter that I would buy them a Larue mount of their choice if the would just email what they needed. I met the guy over that whole program and he informed me that his non-profit put 26 million dollars of care packages in theater last year. They bought the whole state of Texas out of flat rate boxes last year at Christmas. The post office now produces special boxes just for them. After the show we were taken up to the buses and hung out there for several hours. We met all of the band except Zac and Wyatt. We didnt really know if Mitch was going to get a chance to play for them or even see Zac. After the crowd thinned out we were taken on the bus, where Mitch commenced to playing for the bass player John, an artist named Nick Cowan, and Levi Lowery. It was then that they saw the full force of the talent they had invited out. Mitch played a song called Average Joe and they finally had seen all they needed to see. John Hopkins the bass player said, "Is Zac up? We gotta go get Zac". Twenty mins later we were on Zac's bus. Mitch and Zac played songs together for 3 hours until the bus had to leave for Louisville. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!! We were not only invited to Atlanta where their studio is based but on a Cruise with them in Sept. I really feel like we forged a great situation. Stay tuned for details in the coming months and years. And remember you heard it here on ARFCOM first. Your #1 source for breaking news! |
