I am interested in the usage of centimeters vs. millimeters in Europe. As far as I am able to tell, centimeters are being deprecated in favor of millimeters. It also seems like centimeters are being relegated to non-professional uses? Please correct my understanding here. |

In lots of technical stuff it's always been listed in MM as far as I can remember -> 'I need 160mm tubing'/'I used 2mm wire' Larger stuff is usually listed in meters and a optional decimal (comma not dot) for the centimeters -> 'The wall is 10,3m long' I honestly am trying to think up stuff were centimeters are used as standard but I'm not comming up with much besides anecdotal stuff like a auction description (length 43,5 cm) of a chain i bought mrs. iggy1337 and clothing stuff. Most people wil use CM when quickly descibing objects in human use. |
