I seem to remember small strongboxes/lockboxes that fit in between the front seat rails in cars/trucks. I _thought_ they were in a JC Whitney catalog years ago. Can't seem to find anything now there or elsewhere.

Ring a bell for anyone?

I have had a SW 5913 holstered in the door panel for 8 years now.

Sorta like that. But I was thinking of under the seat. Something ~3" H x 10"W x 10-15" L. With a locking drawer.

Kinda hidden under the seat. A real bitch for a "smash-and-grab" a-hole to bust into.

I found something for a full-size Dodge. (Can't find the link right now.) Won't work in my Ranger though. :(

Should we take up a collection, buy one and publicly present it to Gil Kerlikowske?

If you know anyone that works in a sheetmetal or fab. shop they could probly whip you up something on the side. If you were to have a shop bid on it though

It's too late, that gun is already stolen, and I'll bet he's learned his lesson, even though so many Seattlites seem to have already forgotten.

You *do* function test it I hope? At least every 2 years or so?

There are a few different models with differing measurements it seems:

2.5"x7.5"x10.5"

They have some of those gun vaults too. I like the drawer idea myself.
