I will be visiting some extended family in St. Louis and have a valid WI CCW permit.
Based on some of my research, I can carry in Missouri. 
Traveling through IL is another matter. Can you give me a run down of your states "do's and don'ts" for CCW? Thanks! |

DO hit your target.....DONT hit bystanders
Other than that.....MO law and such. I always recommend leaving the gun locked up in the car if you plan to drink. You cannot carry into a tavern (no food), but you can carry into a bar (legitimate food service). Leave the usual suspects alone....hospitals, schools, churches, .gov buildings, post offices,....I'm sure I'm missing some. If there is a sign out front, humor their ignorance and don't carry there.....its their paranoia and their property after all. Enjoy while here....its a shame you went to the wrong side of the state, you could have learned what GOOD BBQ is here in Kansas City! |

From my experiences with the police, your experience is going to be better if you divulge that info prior to them finding it out later....consider it a courtesy that could change the officers mind on whether or not you get a ticket. |

Please clarify, By handing your CCW along with Lic. Are you saying your permit I assume, and not the actual gun. To the OP, I agree no need to tell unless your asked. Or if asked to get out of the car. If he has not as of yet asked if you have a CCW as of yet. Then I would declare I have a permit and a weapon on my right hip or SOB. I would not get out and not declare. Cause a pat down might happen before you have a chance to declare. |

I'll risk the $100 non-criminal, you have to be a fucking moron, fine. Edit too bad Wisco doesn't extend us the same courtesy that MO extends to Wisco CCW license holders. |
