Smith and wesson TRR8 revolver or SIG 522 The Sig 522LR is sold in California and should be fine with 10 round magazines. As rimfire rifle, it's not subject to CA AW laws. Meets minimum barrel length and OAL requirements. CA measures OAL with the stock folded/collapsed, if the rifle can fire in that configuration. With the stock folded, OAL is 26.1 inches. http://www.sigsauer.com/Products/ShowCatalogProductDetails.aspx?categoryid=66&productid=249 http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?t=244050 http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/showthread.php?p=1899996 |

Both are fine to bring in. Your revolver is perfectly legal and the Sig 522 is also perfectly legal because it's a .22 –– rimfire rifles aren't subject to the stupid assault weapon restrictions that CA is famous for. Just make sure that you do not bring in any magazines over 10-rounds for the 522. If you must bring your hi-capacity magazines with you, they need to be disassembled into parts for the duration of their stay in CA.
What part of Socal you coming to? |

Driving from portland oregon to Pasadena to visit family have not lived there for years but want to do some shooting at that range in the mountains near sunland
will likely not bring the 522 since I don't have a 10 round mag. BTW it is a 522 not 552 BIG DIFFERENCE will likely also shot a little trap at that trap range near I-10 |
