Howdy! In Boise visiting family.
Breakfast of leftover nachos from 10barrel and coffee so far today. Going to knock around town today. Steve Miller Band this weekend. Also some rafting lined up. Any suggestions on places to go, things to see? |
| Sorry about the smoke! What would you like to see/do? It's about to get super busy downtown with Boise State students coming back and starting school on Monday. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for? What part of town are you staying? Looking for food recommendations? |

Downtown, you should try Fork (it's a restaurant)
And Barbacoa, steak on a rock, mmmmmmmm. The fire has put a damper on a lot of the rafting, anything up past Horseshoe Bend or Banks gets really smokey. The rafting will put a smile on your face regardless of the smoke. |

I just got back from visiting family in Horseshoe Bend, and spent a lot of time in Boise. The Capitol building is great, as are the other historic buildings in downtown. The Penitentiary Museum in Boise is great and has possibly the best weapons exhibit I've ever seen. Every gun you could want from WW2, many from WW1 and earlier, some cool modern stuff, and even some bronze-age swords and medieval weapons. Seriously, go see the weapons exhibit at the old penitentiary. You won't regret it. |

Went to the Capitol yesterday n knocked around town. Hiked up to the top of Table Rock with the dogs and a neighbor this morning. Drove out to Bogus Basin.
Lunch at Sun Ray cafe. There's a basque festival, rafting and Steve Miller Band yet to go. Having a good time of it! |
