LOL! Why are you trying to make sense of anything the CO legislature does?  I thought our 3-day waiting period was to prevent crimes of passion and whatnot, but now we can put a voluntary flag on ourselves so we aren't tempted to buy a gun and then wait 3 days to pick it up?!? If we try to buy a gun with with the flag in place we get fined $25?!?

Though, if you consider that they're about control and making it difficult to exercise rights, then it makes sense. Already have 8.7 guns and a CCW? Ya still gotta wait. He said that even FFL's have to abide by the wait if they get a gun in that they want to transfer to themselves.

The voluntary waiver process and the prohibition on attempting to purchase a firearm while subject to a voluntary waiver are contingent on the department receiving $200,000 of gifts, grants, or donations to develop and operate the portal. The act permits the department to seek, accept, and expend gifts, grants, or donations for the portal. I'm sure the gun control groups will fall all over themselves to fund this. Honestly it should be illegal for private or non-profit entities to provide funding to governments to uphold laws. |
