Im getting tired of the NRA endorsements for Cochran.  Cochran gave us the 86 ban. He gave us the non-restoration of felons rights. He gave us tons of shitty ATF regulations because he literally did nothing about them.  All he wants to do is win and keep his power.  He is part of the problem and needs to move on in life.

Same here.  I voted a little after  8am and looking at the sign in sheet,  I was number 15.   I was the only person actually there at that time.

Voting light in my precinct. Less than 5o

But I did vote for McDaniel. Wrote in "someone else" for Harper.

Very light at my polling place also [Republican table]. Maybe when everyone get's off work they will vote. Don't know who a light turnout favors on the Republican side.

Low voter turn out across the state.  I thought it was going to be close.  We'll do it again in 3 weeks.

Was watching Fox News and one of the people that does all the election stuff was on. He said if Chris wins the seat will go Democratic in the November election. If Thad wins it stay's Republican.

Still too close to call as of this morning.

If there is a run off, voter turn out will be even less imo.

That's  funny right there.  On MSNBC of all stations they were talking about how the seat, no matter who won, would stay red.  Lol.

There are some Thad supporters here that are saying, well, grumbling that same reasoning this morning.  Didn't believe them either.  Same people also gripe about how people in the delta keep electing Bennie Thompson over and over and over and over...........

My wife and I were #505 and 506 at 6pm today.  Our location serves Nesbit, east Southaven and west Olive Branch.  Basically what used to be county land a few years ago so those numbers were pretty good.  I signed number 114 in the G-M book.  There were over 150 signatures in the A-F book and the other 2 had over 100 each.  The Democrat table looked very, very lonely.

So Nolo, what do you think of the McDaniel /Childers matchup? I was hearing something about them polling pretty closely.
6/4/2014 10:46:09 AM EDT
[#29]
What scares me about the Childers matchup is that the hardore Thad voters will either vote for Childers or just sit this one out. A lot of my family (the ones over 60) voted for Thad and said they'd vote for Childers before they'd vote for McDaniel.

They feel like Thad's connections will do more for us than McDaniel's fire and brimstone. They gripe about govt pork but want to keep the guy in office who gives it out.

Edit: Looks like Chris won my county:

Tate County's unofficial primary election results are as follows:

Senate - Republican: Chris McDaniel (1,617); Thad Cochran (1,021); Thomas L. Carey (18)

1st Congressional District - Republican: Alan Nunnelee (2,265)

Senate - Democrat:Travis Childers (503); William Bond Compton (45); Bill Marcy (29); Jonathan Rawl (10)

1st Congressional District - Democrat: Ron E. Dickey (355); Rex N. Weathers (155)

that is the question right there.  BUT....  people will say a lot when their candidate doesn't win, but in the end will support the nominee.  I (spit) voted for McCain and Romney (spit).

If this doesn't get the goatfucker thrown out of office, nothing will. Way to embarass the whole state asshole.

And no, I'm not starting a thread in GD, we get enough bad press as is.

I don't recall seeing a single Thad commercial prior to the primary. Now they are running 24/7 on WLOX.

Funny how the old ones don't want that power gravy train to slip through their fingers.

And the message is always the same "I can get Mississippi free shit".

Are you not a fan of new jobs in the state? Even if we have to give away millions in free infrastructure, grab citizens' land for a private company through imminent domain, and exempt the new business from taxes for years? Why do you hate progress? Think of the childrens!
