US Army 1980-2000 MOS 98G4LC8KP (SIGINT/Electronics Warfare Voice Intercept Operator, Korean Language, Gister/Transcriber.) I was going to detail my career, in an unclassified manner, but I fell asleep. |

Last I heard / saw, the ex-USCGC Mariposa was at NAVSTA Everett tied up to one of the small piers by the MWR marina. When I was on USS Rodney M. Davis, some of our guys conducted VBSS training onboard Mariposa after they retired her. |

Cool, I know she was at Bremerton for a few years being used as a training boat. I didn't know she had been moved to Everett. I'll go down and see if I can spot her. |

Because I have visited ALOT of places other than Germany, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Korea. There are plenty of other places I have visited courtesy of the US Navy that I didn't list. I have an excellent job (or MOS whatever the other branch calls it) in the Navy and my job has diversity. I can drive small boats, big ships, run refueling rigs, operate electric generators, turn salt water into fresh water, and up to driving humvees with an M-16 slinged to my shoulder with an M9 on my left thigh. Now you still want to ask why I love the Navy? Well, I can tell you but it would take TONS of space here. Oh, and last but not least, I love the "moral support" the Army provides out here in the desert. When will I retire? Well, my 3rd wife has not threaten to leave me yet, so.... But when she does, well you know.... As a sailor, there's a lot of fishes out in the ocean, right? One thing I learned from the Army from being here; "Hoah" I love that term, whatever it stands for, so when a soldier calls me Sarge, well, I call him Hoah back. |

I'm shipping out to USAF BMT this Tuesday May 20. I'm going to do 6 years AD. I know its not as manly of a branch as the others, but I feel like its better for me because I love airplanes and I'm pretty good with electronics. I guess it helps that I scored 98 on the electronics portion of the ASVAB. My AFSC is 2A0X1, Avionics Test Station. The damnest thing is having to go to Lackland AFB in San Antonio TX in June. Good thing this heatwave is getting me semi ready.

No. The Gander crash took place on December 12, 1985. That was nearly 3 years before I even entered the service. Or are you saying he was in the unit, but not on the plane? Either way, the name doesn't sound familiar. I was only in the 101 for 1.5 years. It was weird. Shortest tour ever. Seems that Bragg has a lot of pull when it comes to that P identifier. |
