How did these guys get to be LEO's ? |
|
What did they do wrong again? Made a fucking twat eat less weed then I put oregano and basil in my spaghetti sauce?
One less 19 year old in jail for a minor possession charge, turning into a criminal since even that little weed could be prosecuted up to a felony charge for no other reason then our stupid drug laws? Maybe the shit politicians that wear Uniforms downtown should provide some better firearms training before worrying about stupid shit like this. |

The kid is a whiny bitch looking for some money. The cops gave him a break and he should have thanked them, taken the tickets, drove home and gone to bed. When I was a kid (and that was a loooong time ago when pot was really considered evil) I got caught with a joint. The cop took it, stomped it into the pavement until it was nothing, then told me to GTFO. I was quite appreciative.

No matter what kind of fucktard the perp was the officer has no right to be judge a jury . That kind of thing give all LEO a bad rap . Police do not need any more bad publicity . What are you talking about? That kid had a choice of eat it, or go to jail. He willingly ate it. There was no coercion, they didn't hold a gun to his head, and they didn't hold him down and stuff it in his mouth. Maybe dumbass kid shouldn't have been driving around at 0330 and committing traffic offenses all while in possession an illegal substance. Personal responsibility and all that. EA... Remember, even minor possession can be treated like as a felony. I bet there will be no more Mr. nice police officer after this, every one caught in Phoenix no matter the amount will be getting a hefty ticket at the least. |

They should have cut the kid a break and gave him the felony six charge. Thrown in the felony paraphernalia charge for extra an break.
Seriously, that was really stupid for those cops. The "my rights" screamers have accomplished one thing for certain: the trend is for cops to be 100% by the book in compliance with all laws and all policies at all times with no wavering from the target. Thank god. I remember the bad old days when cops would do unprofessional shit like make a kid dump his beer or throw a joint in the storm drain. Now we can be sure that everyone's rights will be 100% respected and everybody will get all the felony and misdemeanor charges they can stomach. |

Ya either let him go with a warning or bring him in and book him . No need to be a dick . If he had a weapon and drugs , arrest and book the bastard and let the system deal with him . Making him eat the weed doe's nothing but get the perp high as hell . Police used to have discretion. They used to be able to cut a kid a break and tell him "ditch it or eat it" and that would be that. No bad paperwork for the kid, no jail, maybe the kid turns into a CI down the road... always useful to have as many of those in the ghetto as you can and that used to be a way to do it. Police work isn't black and white; it's all a big gray area.. or at least it used to be. But congratulations, now everyone is on candid camera... no more gray area for you and it definitely goes both ways. Less breaks for minor infractions, going by the book 100%, and more wasted tax dollars. OP I'm not calling you out, but if you think you can get high off of eating one gram of weed then you need to do some more research my friend. Full disclosure, I am not a peace officer. My mother, father, and brother are though- this was a summary of a recent family conversation. |

I'm a believer that people should be held accountable. Especially police. But this falls in line with making people walk home when they got busted for drunk driving decades ago.
I'm blown away that they got popped for this, which is basically nothing, but get away with actual bullshit they should get called out for. Remember folks, these incidents are all a symptom of a much bigger problem. Our crooked "representatives" |

That is why they put it into brownies. Why is it so hard for you to accept that the cops were trying to do the little bitch a favor by letting him go? |
Police officers need to follow the rules too . Just like any other job , you follow the rules. If what they did was right they would not have been asked / FORCED to resign . They were never trained to do what they did . The job requires the police follow PROCEDURE . They did not follow procedure ,simple as that . The officer/ officers were not doing their job ,
The perp should have been arrested and the DA should decide if there is cause to proceed .The DA would probably have cut a plea deal and that would be that , if not it would go to trial and The judge and or jury would the case and decide .

So arrest everyone, for everything, no matter what? |

Great idea! Except that an arrest alone - without a charge or adjudication attached to it - can now derail all sorts of careers, especially where moral turpitude is involved. Oh, you were arrested once in high school for a gram of pot, and took a "plea deal" to attend diversion training? Yeah, same as guilty. If there ever was a profession where discretion was needed, police work is it. Consider all the factors and decide what belongs to the system and what doesn't. Frankly, the police already have their noses up too many non-criminal asses and there's enough criminals without making more of them. |

So arrest everyone, for everything, no matter what? If the police don't follow the rules ,why the hell should any of us ? The officers were trained to do the job by the book . If you don't like the job and won't follow department regulations you should not be on the job . I am not a LEO and could never be one . I can not follow orders and I would be corruptible . I do not know what it is like to confront criminals every day . So all I am saying is the department makes the rules and the officers must follow them that is the system . |
