It is simple economics. If the overseas company can provide it at the same specs cheaper, then they should get it. We have plenty of national monuments that aren't from here. Look at the Statue of Liberty. I am sure that if it was a government funded project, it would have some stipulation for American made materials but this project might be funded by donations and every penny probably counts.
This story was way to vague and inconclusive to get upset about. |

The statue of liberty wasn't made by the French as winning bidders of a contract. It was a gesture that meant something. Feels icky. |
