Anybody know of a good outdoor gun range in or near Waco that's open to the public for pistol shooting?
I'm going to be spending a few days there on business and would like to find a place. I did a search at the Range Link but didn't find anything. |

The only ranges I'm aware of in the Waco area that are open to the general public are Weber's in Troy and Chandlers in Valley Mills...I would call them before making the drive. (I have not been to either place other than to drive by Weber's on I-35...looks like a classy place from the road.)
The Waco Rifle & Pistol Club requires membership or being accompanied by a member. (I think there's a $5 or less guest fee.) You might be able to find someone to take you... Weber's Outdoors Chandlers |

Weber's (in Troy, not their store in Temple) is primarily a trap and skeet place, but they do have a small rifle/pistol range. It's $30/day to shoot or $15 if you only stay an hour. Kinda steep but it may be your only option for a public range in this area.
(I do my shooting at Temple Gun Club - but you have to be a member to shoot there) |
