Went to Walmart today in Waterbury to look at some new mini blinds. Walked by the ammo section and noticed 1 box of Winchester M-22 1000 round pack for 50 bucks  Paid happily for the ammo and walked out totally forgetting about the mini blinds  Wife is pissed but I am happy

In Dick's (near Hoffman's) on a day when I planned to tour ~one dozen gun shops and walmarts, in order to buy as much 22lr as possible, hopefully 2,000 rounds or close to it.....I scored the Holy Grail of 22lr. I needed so many rounds for a first-time shooter event I organized (a Church group actually- it was amazing watching the Reverend shooting a 5.5" barrel on a stainless steel Ruger SIngle Ten, and then the blue haired Sunday School teacher shooting an M&P AR clone in 22lr with a red dot sight and vertical grip!!!) Anyway, walked into Dick's, first time ever, expecting to be laughed at like most stores when I ask "Where do you keep all the 22lr ammo?" and asked. One guy did guffaw, and the other started to, but he said,"Wait! That guy never came back to buy that huh? I bet he didnt have an ammo card, he said he was going to get it out of his car like an hour ago. Are you sure you want it though? It's $120." I started to get a chubbee.  
$120 bucks? How many rounds is it? 
I think it's 2,000 rounds, lemme see here. It was four packs of the M22 rounds, in a small grey tackle box. Yes!
Just make sure you check the lot number, it is on the inside of the flap. I like the M22 rounds, even though the wax or whatever it is they put on the lead noses rubs off on your hands when you are reloading magazine after magazine 
See? God wants us to shoot, and he especially wants His flock to be well trained!

m22 is absolute garbage.
no misfires...but each one is a different loudness, so its not constant on fps, almost like they arent equally loaded with the same amount powder...when i shoot my mini mags, they are all as loud as eachother, i cant come up with the "professional" word that describes this issue example: one sounds like my old crossmann pump bb gun, then the next is a normal 22, then the next is somewhere between. |

The one I will be getting shoots 22 magnum and comes with the cylinder conversion for 22 LR. I seen the older version with the conversion at Cabelas for 249.99 last week  Awesome mini revolver's that will be with you everyday, whatever you are wearing

I should say that while I had no functional issues, I did notice that it was variable in speed. Not a big deal. I was shooting it over the winter, which consisted of blasting away because aiming is hard when it's cold out.

I was gonna say- the only person I have ever seen in my life who has an authentic beard that long (i.e. not beard extensions lol) is the fellow from Gunblastdotcom.
Note: regarding the NAA 22lr pocket pistols...I had a gentleman tell me once that he wanted to test 22lr snakeshot (CCI) rounds out of his NAA pocket pistol. He said he was shooting cans, and a butterfly landed right near him. He assured me he is not a hunter and has never shot at any living creature, but he figured now was his chance. He loaded one shotshell into the NAA revolver and fired at the butterfly, point-blank. He said no more than five feet away from it. He said he thought he saw the pellets bounce off the butterfly, and the creature took off flying with no impairment whatsoever. LOL. I won't forget that story.
As for the M22, maybe the issues are related to the bad batches? I think the recall was due to double charged rounds, so some rounds not being charged exactly equally does make sense- it is proven they had quality control issues. That said, I have shot out of all four bricks in the 2,000 lot jackpot goldmine I found.....and no issues at all. Not the most accurate ammo, but the cheapo plinking 22lr ammo never really is accurate- the rounds vary within the same package. |
