Just saw on the news. And to all those who did, thanks for voting 3rd party. |
Thanks, sad but true. The I'm bored comes from me, just about the time something really bad happens, The what does this do? came from a fellow officer who UD'd a pistol, The how does this work? came from the same officer above as he UD'd another pistol. Here is the article straight from ksdk.com AP Says Blagojevich Wins Reelection created: 11/7/2006 7:02:43 PM updated: 11/7/2006 7:05:47 PM CHICAGO (AP) -- Democrat Rod Blagojevich has won re-election in the Illinois governor's race -- beating his Republican challenger, Judy Baar Topinka. Blagojevich's win today is based on a statistical analysis of the vote from voter interviews conducted for The Associated Press (by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International). The race came down to a referendum on Blagojevich's performance in his first term. He reminded voters that he raised Illinois' minimum wage, expanded health insurance programs and put more money into education -- all without a major tax increase. Topinka also pointed to the governor's record but instead focused on overdue state bills, cuts in pension funding and federal investigations of corruption under Blagojevich. THIS WORLD IS GOING TO SHIT IN A HANDBASKET! |

WEEK says JBT has conceded and Blago will be proclaiming victory soon......looks like out only hope of being rid of him any time soon is if we get a Fitzmas present. :( Looks like Roskam is doing well, though. I also noted Arron Schock over in Peoria Cty is walking away with his re-election bid..that cannot please Madigan. |
At least LaHood got to smash faces again. |
Ray will hold that seat as long as he wants to....on the TV they were expressing suprise that he was under 70% this time. He wanted to run for Governor but the bigs in the GOP were afraid that Lyons would take the seat if he abandoned it. I wouldn't be suprised if they're grooming Aaron Schock to succeed him when he decides to retire. |
It would be nice to get a good GOP'r to take his place in washington and send him to Springfield in '10! (2010-boy that sounds like a long ways off.) |
Shock will be old enough to run for the House by then. |
With all the seats the Dems are gonna win in IL alone, do you really think there will be a grandfather clause? We got boned big time both state and federal. I think the only chance the GOP has of retaining the white house is if they ressurect Jesus again, and have him run. |
I honestly dont think so, a lot could happen in 2 years. We'll have to wait and see. (Which also mean, I dont want to think or talk about that so keep those thoughts to yourself Cody!) |
As far as (Federal) House seats go, none have changed party so far, either an incumbent or thier designated successor won. If Roskam holds the line the IL House delegation will not change party-wise at all. And in Central IL at least, it has been the same as State Legislators go. The GOP held onto the seat they got from the Dems in '04, which was the only one to change parties. |
IIRC, the original draft of the "current" AWB bill in IL didn't have a grandfather clause at all. Which is why I am going to start looking into hopping the border to IN possibly sooner than originally planned if anything starts up again. Here's hoping, though. |

Guys, what you need to remember is that 2 years of Dems in office is 729 days longer than they need to prove to everyone that they don't know what the fuck they are doing. Of course that really doesn't apply to IL thanks to the brainwashed asshats that live in Chicago, but other than that... Please someone give me one reason why blago would get ANY votes. What good has he done for this state? Seriously, I cannot think of ONE THING he has done right. Especially since I'm in an IL public school. I think I got buttfucked by him the most.

I don't know a single person who voted for Blago. My g/f voted for the green candidate even though she is Dem jsut becuase she thinks Balgo is 'such an idiot' and two hardcore Demos I work with voted for JBT they hate Blago so much. As usuall, the collar counties have high numbers for all the Republican candidates, with Jesse White being one of the few Demos to show strong in my county (and rightfully so in my opinion, despite some of the 'scandals' the media tried to create). |
All Blago needs to do is carry Cook County and he has won. I have given you the answers many, many times, you just don't pay attention. Blago won because of... Minorities Labor Unions Hysterical short haired women and their ball-less husbands. There ya go. |
OK, I'm not saying your wrong, but can you please elaborate. Here in Illinois, the legislature and the governor are pretty much what they were yesterday and last month and last year, and they couldn't get it passed. Why would they be able to now? Like I said, I may be missing something here. On the other hand, I could see the US congress try to do it again. |

Could be bad news in the Illinois legislature. At least two state Senate seats, that previously had progun, or somewhat progun people, have been lost to the democrats. In the 27th District, anti-gun Peter Gutzmer(D), won the seat vacated by Wendell Jones(R). Look at his website under the issues. This idiot was pushed heavily by the teacher's unions. www.votegutzmer.org/issues.php Does anyone know for sure if Wendell Jones voted against gun control in the past? In the 31st District, that was held by A. Geo-Karis, who voted for the most part with the NRA, the seat was lost to Michael Bond(D). This guy was also supported by the teacher's unions. I thought I saw that this guy was anti-gun, and if anyone can find anything about that, please post it here, because I thought I saw a picture ad for him in the Daily Herald in the last couple of days, sponsored by the unions, that says he is against ccw, and for an awb. If anyone knows of any more changes that are significant in the state legislature, post them here. |

There are a couple more Democrats that have won state Senate seats. In the 22nd district, Michael Noland won, and in the 42nd district Linda Holmes won. I haven't yet found their views on an awb. The 22nd district was previously held by Republican Steve Rauschenberger, a gun rights supporter, as a whole. The 42nd district was held by a Republican, Ed Petka, who I don't know much about. There is very bad news in the 33rd Senate district. Democrat Dan Kotowski won. His brochures have said that he was an Executive Director of the Illinois Council Against handgun violence.www.kotowski4senate.com/issues/gunsafety.html Read this flier, it's very scary to law abiding gun owners. |

Another bad one in the state House was the loss of the seat of Terry Parke (R), who wasn't apparently totally with us on all progun legislation legislation, but hadn't signed on to the awb 2414. Another idiot, again supported by the teacher's unions, Fred Crespo (D), was elected, and in the ads in the paper, bought by the unions, said he would vote for an awb, and against ccw. releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=75993 releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=75971 |
What happened to Rauschenberger? Was he defeated, or did he step down? As for the rest of you... bending over already, as expected. If you want to buy anything, shop for some backbone. If you can even find any your size. |
