...so as I sit here pondering the impending doom of the winter storm warning, I have to ask, is it really going to feel 90 degrees colder tomorrow than today? Here it is almost 50 out right now and the talking weatherheads say it will be -40 windchill over the next day or so.
Even in Ohio this seems to be a stretch. |
| Not looking forward to it even if it gets close to being that cold, I think we caught a bit of a break here in central Ohio as its not supposed to get cold enough to snow until around midnight instead of all day snow...a couple days ago they were calling for 6" or more, now its 1-3. |

I saw that too. All doom and gloom reports a few days ago, practically certain that we would get at least 5", now in my area they are talking maybe less than 1". |

-8 deg. by 5 PM Monday. Wind chill at -33. I just changed my car oil so that should help with cranking.

Hope the power doesn't go out/ could be In for a rough couple days I did another test run of the genny today as well as wheeling it into the heated shop. I hope this rain makes a quick transition to snow. Ice and freezing rain are no fun. Two days of sub-zero temps with no power would not be pleasant. |
| on generator since 1245am. everythnig froze quickly and is covered in ice. windy. duke originally said 1230, now 230. wife and kids asleep together, i'm manning the overnight watch. in a minimal generator config for now damn glad i put the plug on the basement furnace. kicking myself for not doing the upstairs one too. that will get done tomrrow. |

Still raining in Centerville. I'd rather some snow instead of ice for the morning commute. Just got called off, so I won't have to. Guess I'll get to work on leveling the dining room floor in prep for the new flooring. ![]() Got called about 10 minutes after I got underway. I seems the wind was the last straw for a lot of counties. It wasn't so bad, digging the cars out at 6:30. By 7:30, it would have been hell. |

Tomorrow should be "interesting". Many a car door will be frozen shut. Luckily, mines in the garage. Car outside has doors frozen shut. Can't get the cars in the garage out, as the garage door is frozen to the ground.
15 gallons of hot water and the garage door is unstuck. (For the moment) |

Car barely started after work today. Got home and put it in the garage, grabbed the battery charger, and for some reason all of the extension cords in my garage have turned to steel rods. Made it interesting to plug the charger in lol.
Then I zipped my beard into the zipper of my Carhart. Bad stuff right there. |

Came home today and the pipes to the master bath sink were frozen. Everything else in the bath works, but the sink pipes are near the outside wall coming up from the slab.
Put a lab lamp inside the counter under the sink. Any better ideas? Edit:Replaced dog with lamp. |

Will that work since they're about 5' upstream of the frozen spot? Got dog out from under sink.

The temperature forecast earlier in the week for today was highs in the mid 40's. It never made it out of the low 30's. Now they're talking "a light coating to an inch" of snow for tonight.
