I manage apartments and I have three properties with websites I'd like to revamp/improve/dump and start over with and two properties that need brand new sites.
The first three are set up with WordPress templates but they are pretty basic. Any of you do web development or have recommendations for someone or a company who does? |

I deal with a lot of apartments and HOAs for work.. There are about a dozen plug and play web options that are "community" type sites that already have things built into them like tenant applications, maintenance forms, available units, etc. That will make your life so much easier rather than re-creating the wheel.
SEO is kind of a dead art as well. Put your money into Google adwords and the big apartmentfinder.com type sites that sell advertising. Also if you need security or patrols at your complexes, we'll beat whoever you have

I wouldn't quite call SEO a dead art. We were next to nonexistent on all the most relevant keyword searches for our industry/area on Google, Bing, etc. After just $200 bucks worth of SEO keyword research and web work by our contractor, within a week, we were top two or three on the first page for every relevant search phrase we could possibly want on all the major search engines. Our business almost quite literally skyrocketed over night.
We use Google adwords as well, of course, and they send us a ton of business. That said, that few bucks we put into SEO was surely a great investment. |

I emailed a few of the design companies that advertise specifically for web design and I'm waiting for quotes.
And I found out our management software provider does websites that integrate directly with our software so it updates pricing and availability immediately. I have a shooting buddy that does SEO and I hope to get him to look at it for me. Thanks for the advice. |
