Been out of the buying/selling game for like a decade now - but looking to sell my SBR, Glock 43, and some ar mags, but no clue what the actual current guidelines are. Doesn't help that it seems to change on a daily basis. Asked a dude at the Big Top Kitsap show a couple weeks ago but didn't get much actual info.
So questions are: can you even do a private transfer of an AR/SBR now? If so, do you need anything special for an SBR? (Does the buyer need to get a form for it to? Or does it transfer with the gun?) Any limitations on selling a G43? And can you sell pre-ban 30rnd mags? So fucking confused.

You can only sell the AR and 30rd out of state though an FFL, or transfer to family under some circumstances

G43 can transfer through an FFL with what is now a ten day wait

IIRC SBRs follow Federal Law only.

EDIT  So that would mean the buyer has to fill out a Form 4, send it in to ATF, then the Form 4 comes to you as the seller; and you can then compete the transaction.  

Both state and local laws have to be met. If the SBR is an "assault weapon" no dice

That's not entirely clear with SBRs. Allegedly some FFLs are still selling them, apparently relying on RCW 9.41.190.

Already answered with RCW input, but here’s real experience.

AR based SBRs are being denied by ATF. We had a customer that missed the ban deadline by 2 days denied by the ATF based on WA state law.

If it's an AR and you are trying to get cash for it, you can sell all the parts, the upper, the stock, even the trigger. Then just keep the stripped lower receiver.

The other way is a trip to Idaho and sell to a dealer there.

Selling it to a dealer would rape you since they have to make a profit.
