Current 556 stable includes:
LWRC SBR lower with...12.7" M6A3 upper(aimpoint m4s in LaRue mount) LaRue OBR 16" 556 (Trijicon Accupoint scope with red triangle reticle) 22" stainless 556 homebuild, 6-24x50 BSA tactical scope in SWFA SSALT mount, AAC silencer mount, spikes zombie lower, VLTOR EMod stock, moe grip, 15" MI handguard, Geiselle SSA-E trigger, Magpul trigger guard Temptation is to sell 22" gun with standard GI trigger and A2 flash hider......put funds towards another Bushnell HDMR 3.5-21x50 FFP scope with Tremor2 reticle like I use on my .308. Reasoning would be for better optic to shoot prairie dogs with on 16" OBR. Could sell Trijicon Accupoint and mount....but would prefer to keep for faster shots on coyotes since reticle is harder to see on FFP scope when dialed down to 3.5x. Alternative is......sell nothing, spend $50 to convert VFZ LaRue mount to a QD mount if I want to use OBR.....nothing to use 22", mark the receiver and mount to reattach Trijicon/mount later....move my current Bushnell/mount combo over from .308, sight in for prairie dog hunting....then return to .308 rifle once back from South Dakota. Could put that scope on either 22" or the OBR. OR......swap nothing and work with the 6-24x mildot scope on the 22" rifle. This will be the first time prairie dog hunting for me. Final option......PIE! |

I'd leave the 22" as it is and have fun shooting prairie dogs. So.....no pie? Your reasoning seems to make sense... I've been married for over 25 years. Pie is usually not much of a consideration. Hell.....I'm married too. I refer to apple pie, blackberry pie, and occasionally French silk pie.

Good glass is not an option. I can't fully agree there.....I still may just drive back down to the Bushnell outlet and buy another HDMR with Tremor2 reticle.....can't beat what I bought it for ($1126), and having good glass laying around is hard to beat. I'd just have a hard time mounting it up on the 22" home build AR......though if I ever picked up a precision rifle in any caliber...it would go great on it! |
