I knew better! But against my better judgement, I figured this time, someone would actually pull their head out of their ass and make a sale. Nope! There was the rifle I wanted to buy right on the shelf. I just needed someone to pull it down and walk it up to a cashier. Easy Peazy. 15 minutes standing in the same spot at the counter and I was ignored the entire time. And they weren't even busy! Worst. Store. Ever. Not the worst LGS, simply the worst store I've ever been in, period. I don't even feel the need to name the store. You all know which one.

Ahh, there, I feel much better now.

AO in Smyrna. I'm mainly upset with myself for even setting foot in the place, again.

I know stores like that. I remember when I was purchasing my first HDTV, a few stores lost out on my business just due to things like this.

They definitely lost a sale. It's amazing how many people there must be out there with no self-respect to keep places like that in business. Just called around and found the rifle up at SharpShooters. Will head up there tomorrow and pick it up. Might even have them get my can out of the safe and take it for a spin on their range while I'm there.

only reason i go there is if i need something stupid and small i know they'll have...  only exception to this was getting my Shield through them simply because they called me first.

I've had good luck shopping there, just have to eyeball a rep and they come right over.  But I think it's because I'm pretty ugly and they're trying to move me out of the store as quick as possible.  In fact, that seems to work everywhere.  It's like using a disability to line jump.

That's the same kind of "service" I received at Bullseye in Lawrenceville, and I'll never go back. I can get the pawn shop down the street to do transfers and I can generally find any accessories I might want for cheaper online, anyway.

Thats the same store I went in looking for a 870 20GA youth model for my wife. The guy behind the counter tried to talk us into a Mossberg 12GA tactical shotgun because it had an adjustable stock. That place is a joke, one big walmart gun counter with horrible prices.

I never have trouble getting help at Chuck's.  Normally my problem is getting them to leave me alone.

I went there one day because I was meeting up with a guy to sell an upper in their parking lot, and tried to go spend money in there.  Nobody would take my money.  I thought better of it, went to tru-prep, and they were happy to take it.  :)

I think I've told the story before, but several years ago, I wanted a Mathews bow. Chucks was thre recommended dealer in the area. I figured out what I wanted, and went into purchase it. I stood at the counter for 10 minutes waiting to give them $700. The counter help telling each other about how drunk they got over the weekend was much more important than even acknowledging me. Place is crappy, and their prices are high to boot. No thanks.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but when I want help, I don't stand around hoping somebody will notice me, I call them out.

If they're with another customer I understand that they need to finish that business first, but I'll still break in mid-conversation and say that as soon as they're done I'd like to look at a rifle.  I also don't limit it to a single employee.  I'll go right down the line and say it to every one of them.

However, I'll admit that it's not practical when you go and there's 500 people crowded around the counters, 10 deep.  In those instances I don't even bother trying.

Just bought a Savage Mk II FV-SR from them yesterday for $239 though.  Nice rifle - needs a new stock though.

Consistently the best combo of prices and service have been at 400/Dawsonville , Barrow automotive ,our own treedawgs..and Rich.  I used to work down the road from ao it is a hard place to buy from.

The only thing of significance that I have bought from them in 10 years is my safe.  I only bought the safe there because they had a large selection and they were conveniently located.
