They rightly guessed, when they put Fab42 on hold, that they didn't need to increase capacity of 14nm and they were able find a way to do 10nm using a modified version of their current front end process. 7nm is even more complicated and I believe they will be using EUV, so it makes sense for them to use an empty fab for that. |
