Can someone give me information related to magazines and weapons laws. I might be working in the Bay area near SF as a contractor thru the end of the year.
I normally travel with the following: G42 back up with 2 mags 6+1 G41 primary with 6 mags 13+1 Mossberg 20 guage 3 +1 I have the shotty in a case unloaded and locked with ammo in a separate case unlocked, not within reach of the driver. I usually carry both glocks, but have a safe in my vehicle and can transport the weapons, mags and ammo separate from the loaded mags. I already googled and there are too many links with info. Please point me in the right direction. Beers for anyone close to where I land in Fairfield CA. Thanks............ |

Scroll through the various threads at this link. They cover mags and transportation of guns.
CalGuns Sticky If you still have questions post them up. |

G41 will need to be limited to 10 +1 capacity. Go to magblocks.com and pick up a couple limiters to install before getting into CA or buy some 10 round mags. Guns must be in a locked container, mags can be loaded and in the same container, they can not be in the gun. Also center consol and glove box are NOT locked containers in CA, a cloth zip up pistol bag with 99¢ lock is, as well as the trunk of your car.
SF also bans certain carry ammo, basically anything marked "tactical" is a no go. FYI HST is marked Tactical on 50 round boxes but not on 20 round boxes for example. Also I believe SF has an ordinance against leaving firearms locked in your car while your not on it. |

Pistols must be registered here if you establish a residency here. No concealed carry permit needed in your house/residence. Be careful with the "residency" requirements and how your employer classifies you - it could impact firearms and vehicle registration. |

I was looking for all this information as well. Looks like I'll be working for a couple months in Hayward, CA a little south of there starting next week. ![]() Go out in your backyard and tie the Hayward Fault together for us. If you thought 15 minutes wasn't enough warning for a tornado, wait til your first moderate eq surprises you with no warning. Whatever you do, don't visit the Sierras, Yosemite, the coast or giant redwoods or the Point Lobos. They're contgious. |

I've worked all along the west coast but this is my first time in North California. Never been through a decent earthquake, but I'm looking forward to it. |
