...changing an EGR valve and shocks in an S-10 Blazer should be relatively easy

Took me a couple hours on the shocks.. hardly any room at the upper towers, and a stripped out bolt on the other one, ended up hammering a smaller standard socket onto it. The retard of a previous owner ZIP TIED the passenger side shock to the lower mount It clanked pretty bad, and I initially thought it was a blown shock

Then there's the funny fucker at GM that thought putting the EGR valve on the back of the intake behind the throttle body and under a bunch of hard lines... took a while of me bending into various shapes to look at it and get it off

Amazing that that little valve can cause the truck to run like shit Truck was idling rough, stalling when put into gear, and had some pretty clunky acceleration at WOT.. now it purrs.

I need to replace the PCV valve on our Mitsubishi Montero, but to do so requires removing the intake.  Why the hell can't they make vehicles easier to work on.

It's going to take half a day to replace a $6 part, then I have to spend more money on gaskets.

Damn, that is insane I hope those PCV valves last a while. Is that why it leaks oil so bad?

Because they want you to just buy a new one, not keep the older one running.

And their dealer mechanics can charge you $80 an hour.  Especially when it's something that only dealers have the special tools for.

Possibly.  I'm going to see what I can do to it soon.   Got to get it running and sell it soon.

Got promoted at work, and am getting a company car, so time to get rid of both cars and my motorcycle.

Going to pick up one nice family vehicle, and drive my company car with free gas whenever possible.

The EGR has to have a direct passage into the intake.........where else are you going to put it?

If it were me, I'd leave it in the same spot and just not bury it as bad... probably would've been easier if I had some ratcheting box ends(next purchase I think). Whenever my tax rebate ever decides to show up... need to fix the issues the Suburban is having too, had my ignition module tested and it's having issues.

as far as your ignition module goes........rebuild your distributor....it's easy and cheap.....new ignition module and pick-up..it'll be good for another 100k

Anything else I should take care of when I pull the dizzy? Should I replace the gear too or just the pick-up?

Just clean it up real good...check the shaft for straightness...don't worry about the gear unless it has a chipped tooth.

Awesome, I think if I can score the part tomorrow I'll do it then. I think the local parts house carries AC Delco stuff..
