This year, a man who’s career was pronounced over after an ill-considered (and factually inaccurate) remark on a blog appears on at least one company’s list of celebrities appearing at SHOT.

He’s not back to serve as a party piñata. He’s back because it seems the industry can forgive a single wrong – provided years of substance precede the error. He acknowledged his wrong, cured himself of his ignorance, and proved that doing the right thing occasionally is, well, the right thing.

Not everyone has forgiven the insult- some never will – but that’s life.

From today's "Shooting Wire" by Jim Shepard.

No names were mentioned but we can see that apparently we have all forgiven big Jim and he's a heralded celebrity yet again. With memories this short can we expect the Democrats to remember losing the house after the last AWB?

Some offenses are forgivable, some are NOT!

I vote NOT!

No, not really.

He said what he really felt, then tried to recant /make it up to us out of a purely financial-ass-saving motive.

Absolutely yes!

Many people, including himself, have learned from the mistake and no permanent damage was done.  After the smoke cleared, I think the incident worked out to the advantage of AR shooters.  Lord knows we needed something to go our way.

Besides, who the hell am I not to forgive someone over something so relatively small? But that's just me.

His apology was to salvage what was left of his reputation. It had nothing to do with changing his mind about EBR's. With or without him, I don't really care. I didn't even know who he was before the incident.

The Nuge says he's got his head right now, so he must be OK

Didn't know who he was before his fuckup, I now know what he looks like, not going out of my way to find out what he spews now anyways.

Zumbo was a Fudd, in the true Arfcom sense of the word. He cared only about his "second amendment right to hunt", and knew NOTHING about the real thing.

MAYBE he is truly reformed. If anyone could do it, the 'Nuge could.

I forgave him a while back.  I don't trust him, though.

The way I see it is some Fudds are sheep. Zumbo is a sheep. He didn't know there were uses for a gun beyond hunting. I'm sure he feels safe is his house and feels no need to carry.

With his comments, he invited a sh!t storm to rain down on him, and in the process got a bit of education. I doubt it removed his wool, but maybe he's a bit tainted and realizes that some of us are concerned about this country beyond the hunting regulations and land use.

I don't hold grudges against sheep. They're sheep afterall, and by definition, are stupid and don't know better.
