I was stopped this morning in the alley behind my house.

When I pulled out of my garage, I was saw this IPD cop walking up the alley shining his flashlight in dark corners with his pistol drawn.  Not wanting to interfere with his work, I didn't get out of the car to ask him what was wrong; plus, from experience, cops that I don't know have always been arrogant.

As I was driving past him, he started walking toward my car and shone his flashlight on me so, to be polite, I stopped.  He asked me a few questions then saw my pistol grip sticking out of my laptop bag and asked, "What about your weapon?".  I replied, "What about it?".  Him, "Do you have a permit?".  Me, "Yes, sir."

After that, he asked me to hand him the bag because the Village Pantry around the corner has just been robbed and I fit the description of the robber.  Mondays for me are usually "shirt and tie" days, but since no one else would be working today, I wore jeans, a white t-shirt, and a three-day shadow.  I waited for just about five minutes for the VP clerk to look at me, then I was cleared to go and thanked for the cooperation.

I put a +1 in the title because the cops were respectful and didn't freak out when they saw my pistol (unlike my previous incident).  On top of that, not only did they not unload it and run the serial number, they did not even unholster it.  ETA: Nor did they shoot my dog.

That VP is a dive.  I haven't been in there for quite a while.

Glad you had a good experience with IPD.  Well, at least a professional one...

And your dog is safe!

I try to support it only because I don't want it to become a check-cashing place or pawn shop.  It won't affect me much longer though; I just put my house for sale.

Really?  What's up with that?  Leaving our quaint little neighborhood?

can you blame him? I got tired of the crap so I moved to mooresville. just far enough. I mean hell I went to popguns and got a EO 552 and a M3x and was admiring when a FOOl I have never seen before opened up my back door and stepped in, and just as quick stepped out. I guess he was not totaly stupid. but I did get to use the new toys and find they are EXCELLENT in the dark!

Yes, as a matter of fact, I can blame him.

I've been busy clearing my Southern and Eastern fields of fire.  Now what am I supposed to do???

Yes.  You really aren't moving very far, are you?

It might require a marginal amount of effort to go eat at Harold's, now.

abnk, is this a set-up?

The last time someone in here said they were moving, they drafted several AR15.cult members to help with the move (and yes, of course - the couch that turned into a double bed DID pop open halfway down the stairs)!

Why, yes, it is.  I appreciate you volunteering to help.    Beer will be galore.

You will notice, I refrained from taking the bait.  Last ARFCOM move I helped with, the new neighbors were a bit freaked out by sight of some of their new neighbors "stuff."

FYI, not long ago I did drive through the old Eastside hood after a series of posts in here about it.  Some stuff is different, some is the same.
