You have to leave the brass at the range? I'd have to pass. Plus, I only have an O/U shotgun. Yeah, that's a pretty steep price to pay! Especially for those of us that have done extensive brass prep on our reloads. I suppose I could go buy some expensive WWB or something. That's also Memorial Day weekend. I won't be shooting CMMG this year, so I'd like to make it to at least one somewhat 'formal' match this year....I'll have to think about this one... |

The "leave the brass" issue isn't really an issue if your shooting steel cased or surplus berdan primed... (unless you are really that desperate for brass somehow) Loan/use of a shotgun is not a problem for anyone there as well. |

Truly; the "leave your brass at the range " rule seems inconsequential considering: -those absolutely committed to reloading will have a brass catcher for whatever weapon in question. -the round count is so low that if you need EVERY round you leave on my property, obviously my FREE shoot is not for you! -if you are able to build the COF and steel targets needed to create this shoot, why would you need even come? Sorry to sound like an ass, but rather than complain about my small requirements I impose for all my work and joy; why dont you figure out how to slight me in your own tight ass way, and still come and try and out shoot us all! The KDSC will ALWAYS be committed to promoting safe firearm ownership, and INFORMAL competition. True, and I rarely go out of my way to pick up brass at competitions. I think what got us going is the stated fact of brass not being retrievable. As you say here, I doubt we'll be leaving 10 or 15 bucks worth of brass on the ground, yet I would (and do) pay 10-20 bucks to shoot at matches.... |

Lets analyze this: I rarely go out of my way to pick up brass at competitions. So what exactly is the problem then? Did I imply that I didn't want you to skulk around after the shoot and hoard the spent cases? I think what got us ( YOU are the only person voicing your discontent.....I see no others arguing my requests) going is the stated fact of brass not being retrievable. As you say here, I doubt we'll be leaving 10 or 15 bucks worth of brass on the ground, yet I would (and do) pay 10-20 bucks to shoot at matches....So? You'll pay 10-20 bucks to shoot any other match, but for some reason the KDSC shoot is unnacceptable because they want your 10-15 bucks of brass; and refuse to charge you anything but your generousity!?!!!! Message to all tight wads....please avoid the KDSC shoots; as they will ask of you such difficult and demanding requests. Please direct all interest to other groups, which ask of you from your pocket, and not your obligated interest in our 2nd Amendment rights. Damn dude. And to think, we were in the same squad at CMMG last summer....wtf. I was basically saying that I changed my mind and was agreeing on the fact that leaving a few bucks of brass on the ground is nothing compared to the normal entry fees, and the fact that I don't really worry about my brass at shoots. But whatever. |

Yeah, nice attitude Metalman. I didn't even realize your shoot was free. Oh well, I'd rather spend the $10-$20 on a good shoot with nice people who don't get pissy at the littlest thing. Have fun. And I'de rather not have ingrates argue about minutia rather than keep the tone positive. Looks like I got swallowed into another troll match.... And the whole 'good shoot' comment .......wow....show up see how my attitude is towards you as you step on my property. thread deleted...... |

Whole thing was pretty much like this:
The Dude: It's like what Lenin said... you look for the person who will benefit, and, uh, uh... Donny: I am the walrus. The Dude: You know what I'm trying to say... Donny: I am the walrus. Walter Sobchak: That fucking bitch... The Dude: Oh yeah! Donny: I am the walrus. Walter Sobchak: Shut the fuck up, Donny! V.I. Lenin. Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov! Donny: What the fuck is he talking about, Dude? |
It is sad that METALMAN, who is a nice guy by the way, invites the Missouri crew to a shoot he is hosting and gets attacked because of one of his rules. You all bitch and whine about your f*cking rights but will trash an others. And yes "A man's home is his castle". If you don't like the rules, don't visit the kingdom.

As I mentioned, I've shot with MetalMan, and he seemed like an OK dude in person. He technically did try to close the thread, and I don't want this to turn into an indirect bashing party, we don't need to do that to each other. As BK mentions, his range his rules, I don't like it I shoot somewhere else. Which I will do.
So, Eric10mm, please close this down. Also, I do offer my apology to MM for turning an anthill into a .... well, whatever this turned into. I hope your shoot goes well. |
