Well if you have an "assault weapon registered" AK receiver or something similiar why not send it out of CA to one of the well known builders such as: In Range AK-USA Elk Rive Tool & Die, Inc. Marshall Arms Reason being is that you simply aren't going to find many builders in CA as there is no market for it. Seriously due to the ban a builder would have very little work coming in, you would be very much better seeking out of state builders. |
| In all honesty, it will probably cost you MORE to have it sent out than to buy the tools and do it yourself. Now if you are only building one, then it's a toss up because you won't be able to do as great of a job as a 'pro' with the right tools, but if you building more than one than you really should invest in the tools it will take to build one. You could probably get EVERYTHING you need to build one for like $150 and I've seen people charge as much as $400 to build up an AK properly (of course the average is probably closer to the $150-250 range) but you don't get the tools that way either. |
