Has anyone else bought bulk reloads from Dallas Reloads?

I bought 1000 rounds of 55gr FMJ from them at a gun show about 2 weeks ago and I am noticing that 1 out of every 25 rounds is not usable. Missing primers, loose primers, bent casings (at the point of projectile placement). Has anyone else had these problems. For 1 of 25, that means I'll end up with 40 bad rounds.

I have heard of people having issues with ammo from Dallas Reloaders.  I have never had an issue with their .223, but, I primarily shoot handloads that I have made.  My advice would be to go out to the next gunshow (there is one in Mesquite this weekend) and talk to Lamar.  Tell him what the problem is and see what he says.

just picked up 2K last weekend for the shoot. All ran great , no issues. I agree with the other comment, go talk with Lamar. They are good people to deal with..Pike

I got 500 rounds of 55gr .223 from them last year.  I got a FTF or FTE about 1 every 30 rounds.  Won't be buying any reloads from them anymore.  I'm sticking with UMC as range ammo now.

I don't buy their .223 anymore because of defective/damaged cases. I still however buy their pistol ammo.

Ive seen several different issues first hand with thier 223 rounds, enough to know I wont be buying any from them

What were you paying for a thousand rounds of 223?

I know a guy that has had tons of trouble with them.  I think it was their .308 reloads.  He had rounds with primer but no powder.   Not just one either.

I did buy a case of 9mm from them last weekend in Tyler but have not had a chance to shoot any of it.   Once I do, I'll try to remember to post a review.

I have delt with Lamar and has done me right.  I buy loaded and bullets and primers from him.  He will stand behind his ammo, just talk to him.

Unfortunately, problems like this are the reason I don't buy reloaded ammo, especially not from non national brand vendors...

I've bought some of their 45acp fmj and had several crap casings.  bulged, creased, etc.

For the price difference on 45acp, its not worth it over factory WWB fmj... or even Blazer Brass

I've never had a problem with their stuff. Unless it was a round or two that I would simply discard and move on.

It is pretty cheap as far as ammo goes as far as I'm concerned. Accuracy wise it's not great, but I don't expect it to be.

If I see them at a show I usually buy at least some 223 and 40 cal and 9MM.

I have shot maybe 10,000 rounds of the SP 223 ever once in a while I have had a primer fall out. I still shoot it all the time. It's so much better the Wolf a couple of bad one is not a big deal to me. RH

A friend of mine is a vendor at the Dallas shows, he warned me about them years ago.  I'd stay away.  For that matter, stay away from all reloaded ammo.

I have purchased them in the past in 9mm, .40 and .45. Of the several batches only the most recent batch of 500 rounds of .45 have been troublesome. Given the quality and cost, I would buy the Speer ammo from Ammoman.

On their 223 I've had cases split in half. On 9mm primers installed backwards and crumpled case necks.

I will not buy from them ever...............

I got bent cases, torn neck, bad or no primers, upside down primers and worst of all......holes in the side of cases exposing the powder.

Many moons ago, I had problem with their 9mm, but not .223 ammo.   They were very cool as far as replacing 9mm factory ammo for me.

I also forgot to say that after we got home from the range, we were cleaning our ARs and my friend heard something rattling in his. We shook the gun for about 20 seconds until a used primer fell out. That is a very disturbing feeling, especially on a brand new gun that you spent almost a grand on.

I have bought a few K from them.

The 55gy noslers were damn accuate.

The fmj's went bang everytime.  I would not shoot them with a mg, but I have no problem with shooting them in my AR.

I've been thru about 1200 rds with no problems & good accuracy out of my carbine. Just bought another thousand rd. can from them & went thru all the rounds & inspected them & counted them. Not one damaged rd. & got a thousand & eight rounds in the can. The polish on the cases looked like factory ammo. I'm very pleased with their ammo & will continue to shoot it as long as it stays affordable.

9mm won't run worth crap out of the several subguns we have had at the range the last couple of weeks.   My M11 included. The primers get dimpled but won't fire.   Reloaded with WWB and every mag ran fine.  Same with an MP5.

www.DallasReloads.com is the website to Custom Reloads of Dallas. We specialize in custom load development for rifles and handguns. There is another company of similar name not associated with us. Please call me if you want top accuracy in your firearm!!

Are we all talking about the same company?  Seems like the ...Z28's post and rogue007's photos are describing junk, but others are mentioning very different levels of quality.

Let's not damage some good company's name through confusion, guys.

I have been shooting Dallas Reloads stuff since '99. Their 52 and 68 gr. H P is good stuff. It will shoot with blk. hills reman. , no problems.
Of course, i liked it better when it was $75.00 per 500 rnds. out the door.[FMJ]

You know, I thought the same thing after ChadTRG posted above.   Sounds like there are two companies with VERY similar names.   The one that comes to the Tyler fun shows sucks.

Per the guys at Dallas reloading, if the ammo came from them and you have an issue, contact them and they will make it right. Spoke with Lamar this last weekend at Ft Worth and said call him or come by at a show and will stand behind his product..( I know, he would be safe to stand in front if it does not work, thought I better say that before one of ya'll did ) ...Pike

I bought some pistol ammo from them and found several SPLIT casings, including one that was split almost the entire length of the case.

I emailed them about it at the time and sent a picture showing the defective casings, but got no response.
