I'm on the hunt for some Hoagie rolls for our deli.  We are wanting to introduced steamed sammiches to our menu, and need good bread.  The crust has to be thicker than normal to hold up to the steam... So far due to our location, we have been unable to find something that, 1) will work, 2)can be delivered, 3) be tasty enough to satisfy our picky taste buds....

One of the main problems is finding contact information for whole sale bread companies.... We have contacted some folks from springfield, they won't deliver this far east.... our local grocery store gets bread from rogers AR.... they don't have anything acceptable....

Do you have a recipe and process that will give you what you need, or do you need someone to formulate it?

If the product does not exist in your area, are you able to give a local producer the recipe and method required to make it for you?

My apologies if you've already explored this.

we have not done this, while we make our own home made bread as a sandwich option, I have not considered having a company make any for us specifically.... I figure it would be a cost prohibitive option.

Could you tell me where your deli is?

I know people in your area who may know folks that can help

Get a hold of Flowers Bakery. My buddy drives for them, they’re all over the country and deliver bread products to grocery stores and restaurants. They do Wonder Bread, Dave’s Killer, and several store specific brands

ETA-I texted him and he’s going to talk to his boss Monday to see if their depot in Rolla goes that far south

Bigfoot Burger in Winona makes their own buns and also do some bakery stuff.  Their burger buns are great and quite a bit stronger than your regular grocery store buns.  Just a suggestion.

It's an odd suggestion, but our Walmart bakery makes some of their own bread. Now whether they could make a large order for a deli is another matter, but worth speaking to a store manager about it, if you have one locally.

Other's have mentioned a bakery. I'm sure a local owner would be pleased to get a nice contract with you for a sale after some tasting tests to see which batch you/employees like best for your local sammich sales.

We may have to look into this, but our nearest Walmart is in the Bluff which is 45min/1 hr away (depends on who drives)....
