When bore sighting with a laser bore sight, how far away do you set the target to get a proper sight
picture to adjust the scope to get on target without spending 20 bucks in ammo.
25 yards 100 yards or your shooting distance you'll be using? I don't know, does anyone have experience with a laser bore sight setup?

I would do it at 25 yards, I have a Bushnell bore sighter and I seriously doubt I could see it on target at 100 yards unless it was at night.  Sight it in at 25 yards and adjust it so it is roughly the same distance above the bullseye that your scope crosshairs are above the bore of the rifle––about 2" or so.

If it is a centerfire caliber like .223 or .308, zero it at 25 yards live fire, then move it out to 100 and see how it compares.

25 yards will work fine. Just make sure you remove the sighter before you shoot- one of my shootin' buds used his as the first round in live fire.

sounds obvious but read the instructions. my bore sighter says 25 yards or 30 feet. you put the dot high at 30 feet with mine and it put me right on at 100 yards. they get you in the ball park thats all you can ask.
