| let me start by saying Mikes Chevron on College in Fairbanks sucks... and now for the rest of the story. So I was in Fairbanks for work putting the flooring in the new Safeway (worst floor protection after installation that I have ever seen) and the 4wd went out on my car so I took it to Mikes and the charged me an hour of labor for looking at it and told me it was fine no problems at all. Well that was really the only time I had that I could take it anywhere and the light was still out indicationg no 4wd so I had figured that the light was burnt out or had a loose connection. Well I wound up driving home and the 4wd was out and wound up in a ditch snow up to the roof on the back of my car and up to the windows on the drivers door 20 miles outside of Cantwell on the Anchorage side. Fortunately my coworker had a truck big enough to pull me out and was following me. Took my car to Midas in Palmer the next day let them know what all had happened and that I was going to be looking into new cars. They called me back and basically told me that the car had several large safety issues with the front end to include and pretty much that it would be worth trading it in. Ended up taking a hit on the trade in value since it had problems but got a smoking deal on a new 07 Dodge 1500 crew cab. I am stil pissed that Mikes just turned my car around even more since I told them I was driving back to Anchorage. |
