Having done this many times I can tell you that I no longer use mom and pop or standalone vendors for this sort of thing. The reason why is that invariably some issue (like a stretch, seam or bind) comes up a year or two down the road and they (the small biz) is usually out of business at that point. Now I use Home Depot because: 1. They match or will beat prices I can get from the small guy. 2. They guarantee their work regardless of which contractor they contract with to do the actual work. HD isn't at risk of going out of biz even years from now. 3. They sell only top notch product and won't sell seconds like some of the small guys. 4. They are based in Atlanta so in effect they are a local business that contributes to the local economy. That is all. Good luck. |
