oh dear god....I HATE chiggers got them when I was a little kid up in fairplay, CO on a hunting trip. mom painted my stomache up with red fingernail polish. (they thought it suffocated them). I was told that isn't true, but it sure made me feel better. never itched so bad in my life. |

I haven't seen a chigger since I left Hell Annoys. There are a few mosquitos around. That area, Boulder to Ft. C. is where I'd worry about West Nile Virus. Of course, I wouldn't worry too hard about it. Unless you have a faulty immune system it's unlikely to be much more than a summer flu to you if you get it at all. (And have we even had any human cases yet this year? I don't remember hearing about any.) |
