Fleas are so rare along the front range (CO Springs, Denver, Ft. Collins) that the vets here recommend against using flea collars on your pets.

oh dear god....I HATE chiggers

got them when I was a little kid up in fairplay, CO on a hunting trip.

mom painted my stomache up with red fingernail polish.  (they thought it suffocated them).  I was told that isn't true, but it sure made me feel better.
never itched so bad in my life.

I haven't seen a chigger since I left Hell Annoys.

There are a few mosquitos around. That area, Boulder to Ft. C. is where I'd worry about West Nile Virus.

Of course, I wouldn't worry too hard about it. Unless you have a faulty immune system it's unlikely to be much more than a summer flu to you if you get it at all. (And have we even had any human cases yet this year? I don't remember hearing about any.)
