Taxes are very low (1000-1500 yr for a 350,000 home, I personally pay $600yr)
Low income tax, no state sales tax (the big saver)

Northern Delaware is more liberal and city.
Kent and Sussex counties in the lower part of the state is generally more conservative and rural. Sussex county is very rural in the western part of the county and beach resort orientated in the eastern side. Sussex is the largest county by far.

Carry permits are pretty easy to get.
Hunting is great for White Tail deer and getting better every year as trhe populations are swelling.

No class 3 but all checks for buying are insta checks and you walk out with your purchase the same day (normally a 15 min process)

If you looking to move over this way let me know I am also a realtor and can send you out any property info you might want.

All in all its a nice place to live but like every other state in the nation has seen some change.

*note My neighhbors is for sale 4acres within 1/4 mile from a Rifle Range

No SBR

Schools would depend on what are of the state your in.

White tail and turkey can be hunted on state lands if you dont have your own. Once again there are more places farther down state.

are there taxes on out of state pensions.  are there local income taxes.   is the state republican or democrat

Dont know about pensions (we are rated in the top 5 retirement states so it can not be to bad)

No local tax, there is property tax if you live in the city, and I think Wilmington has a 1 percent income tax. Delaware in normally considered Democrat  but it is only becuase  we have one large city in the far north of the state. Kent and Sussex county are pretty strong republican areas and conservative (with the exception of the beach areas)

I live in lower slower myself, it is still very rural in most parts. Neighbors house is selling for $257,000 and has 3.9 acres so the prices are a bit lower also.

I guess I will be the northern more city/suburb DE guy. I love the Gun laws minus the class 3. I also love that you can get to 3-4 major cities or to the middle of nowhere in an hour. I am looking into getting an AR here soon so you DE folk represent and tell me where is the best to buy/shoot.
